From Power Trading to Compute Power Supply, AI-Native Power Asset Operator Green Voltis Closes Tens of Millions of Dollars in Series A Funding | Unity Ventures

Laying the groundwork in AI infrastructure

Unity Ventures angel-round portfolio company Green Voltis announced today that it has raised tens of millions of dollars in a Series A round, with exclusive investment from Lochpine Capital, a global asset management platform founded by CATL.

Headquartered in Stockholm, Sweden, Green Voltis is an AI-native power asset operator providing full-lifecycle services for European standalone battery storage and renewable-plus-storage projects, from grid connection commissioning to power trading.

The company has independently developed the Aether AI power trading agent and Chronos EMS, and has secured market access across ten European countries. Its contracted and operational assets exceed 1.2 GWh, with returns consistently outperforming the Clean Horizon benchmark index for European energy storage returns.

Separately, the company is expanding into European AI infrastructure through a Power-to-Compute model, having secured approximately 120 MW of powered land for data centers in the Nordics.

Swedish AI-native power asset operator Green Voltis announced today that it has raised tens of millions of dollars in a Series A round, with exclusive investment from Lochpine Capital. Lochpine Capital is a global asset management platform founded by CATL, leveraging CATL's technical expertise and industrial resources to identify and support transformative companies in green batteries, renewable energy, and related industrial sectors.

Green Voltis uses its self-developed AI power trading agent to operate standalone battery storage and renewable-plus-storage projects across Europe. It currently has contracted and operational assets exceeding 1.2 GWh.

The proceeds from this round will be deployed across three priorities: continued R&D investment in the Aether AI power trading agent and Chronos grid connection control system, business expansion in key European markets, and strategic positioning in AI infrastructure.

European energy storage and other flexible assets are approaching a construction peak, yet lengthy grid connection timelines, volatile returns, and project financing difficulties remain widespread challenges for asset owners.

Green Voltis provides one-stop services for owners of standalone storage and renewable-plus-storage projects, from grid connection to trading: local engineering teams handle commissioning and ancillary services qualification to bring projects online quickly; the self-developed Chronos EMS manages on-site plant control, has passed grid code certification, and supports grid-forming operation. The company's self-developed Aether AI power trading agent: built on a temporal foundation model, prediction-driven, it deploys quantitative trading strategies through Revenue & Capacity Stacking to maximize upside capture for clients across multiple power markets. On this basis, the company can offer owners financeable partnership models including revenue sharing, capacity leasing, and guaranteed returns, helping projects lock in revenues and reduce financing difficulty.

The company has currently secured power market access across ten European countries. The returns on its managed storage assets have consistently exceeded the Clean Horizon index, which is used to evaluate premium returns in the energy storage industry.

Beyond flexible asset operations, Green Voltis is extending the same capabilities into AI infrastructure. In Europe, the ability to provide grid flexibility is increasingly determining how quickly data centers can secure power. Green Voltis's core competency lies precisely in operating battery storage and renewable-plus-storage projects as grid-dispatchable flexible assets.

Building on this capability, Green Voltis aims to become a European Power-to-Compute operator: connecting the grid on one end and compute on the other, converting scarce grid connection capacity into rapidly deployable compute. The company has already secured approximately 120 MW of powered land with grid connection conditions in the Nordics, and will partner with compute operators to build grid-friendly AI data centers, enabling compute to access power faster.

Green Voltis's core team brings together talent from ICT leaders including Huawei, Ericsson, and T-Mobile, as well as power systems and power trading specialists from Rolls-Royce, Brady, and Varberg Energi, including several serial entrepreneurs.

Ali Shi, co-founder of Green Voltis, said: "From the GPT moment to today, AI is evolving from general capabilities toward deep industry verticals. Real value emerges at the intersection of AI and domain expertise — Green Voltis was born at the crossroads of AI and energy. For the energy industry, we use AI to provide grid flexibility, making renewable energy investments more certain and sustainable. For the AI industry, we use the same capabilities to help compute connect to power faster. The end of AI is energy. What we aim to do is get power online faster and compute producing faster — Time to Power and Time to Token."
