Smart lawn-mowing robot manufacturer Lymow Technology recently completed a Series A financing round of tens of millions of RMB, with participation from Unity Ventures.

Lymow Technology focuses on R&D and manufacturing of smart lawn-mowing robots for the European and North American markets. Since 2025, the company has completed three financing rounds, with cumulative funding exceeding 100 million RMB.

Unlike the fiercely competitive European small-lawn segment, Lymow has carved out a differentiated position in the North American market by targeting thousand-square-meter large lawns with a diversified product matrix, creating a competitive moat against other brands. The company has also crossed the mass production threshold and begun stable delivery. Unity Ventures believes that the Lymow team possesses extensive experience in North American product design and mass production, and has withstood the industry-wide shakeout in lawn mowers in recent years, demonstrating exceptional adaptability and resilient entrepreneurial spirit — making them a dark horse contender in the landscaping sector. Smart lawn-mowing robot manufacturer Lymow Technology recently completed a Series A financing round of tens of millions of RMB, led exclusively by Ivy Capital, with co-investment from Unity Ventures, Gobi Partners, Creo Capital, FutureX Capital, and Xingfu Capital. Maple Pledge served as the long-term exclusive financial advisor, providing ongoing private equity financing services. The funds will be used for new product R&D and iteration, mass production and delivery, and anticipatory market inventory stocking.

Since 2025, the company has completed three financing rounds with cumulative funding exceeding 100 million RMB. Previous investors include Jiukun Venture Capital, the XbotPark fund founded by Professor Zexiang Li, NBT Capital, and leading European and American publicly listed home consumer electronics companies.

Lymow Technology is a long-standing focus of Hard Kr. The company specializes in R&D and manufacturing of smart lawn-mowing robots for the European and North American markets. Since its debut on Kickstarter, its first product Lymow One has raised over $7.5 million, ranking first in the lawn mower category on the platform. Since launching its independent website on May 28, cumulative sales have exceeded 100 million RMB, with an average order value of $2,499.

On the offline channel front, the company has established clear cooperation intentions with dozens of global distributors and retailers, with sample testing and delivery underway. Current daily production capacity is stable at 200 units, with cumulative shipments already reaching several thousand units, and full-year delivery expected to exceed tens of thousands of units.

North America, with its mature yard culture and strong consumer spending power, remains the core battleground for the global yard economy. Yet as the world's largest single market, lawn-mowing robot penetration there remains below 3%. By contrast, penetration in Europe has already approached 20%.

According to data from the National Gardening Association, approximately 42% of middle-class American households still adhere to traditional DIY lawn mowing; higher-income groups tend to prefer professional services. Affected by regional climate patterns, mowing is typically needed 7-9 months per year, averaging once per week.

Using the calculation of $50-150 per visit for Mexican gardener services (varying by lawn size), and assuming 25 service visits annually, yearly expenses can reach $1,250-$3,750. This market reality reflects both the inertia of traditional habits against new technology adoption and highlights the cost-substitution and efficiency advantages that lawn-mowing robots offer, providing a clear direction for market penetration.

Lymow Technology founder and CEO Wangshu Gao told Hard Kr that American users consistently prioritize practicality and payback period when selecting lawn care tools. "The intelligent development path for lawn care tools has yet to converge, with diverse exploratory approaches to feature iteration. Against this backdrop, our R&D focus should center on solving real user pain points in actual usage."

From the demand side, "whether it can efficiently complete mowing tasks" represents users' core requirement. Performance metrics including cutting effectiveness across grass types, adaptability to complex terrain, and the match between battery life and mowing area directly determine market acceptance.

To this end, in product system architecture, Lymow Technology adopted an entirely new tracked design and an industry-first straight-blade cutting system. While wheeled lawn-mowing robots today max out at 80% (38.7-degree) slope climbing capability, Lymow's tracked solution pushes this to 100% (45 degrees). And where many lawn-mowing robots struggle to effectively cut the tall grasses and warm-season grasses common in North America, the straight-blade cutting system handles all varieties of dense, tough, and both cool- and warm-season grasses.

Compared to the several-kilowatt power of traditional push mowers, most lawn-mowing robots on the market feature only 50W single-blade configurations with clearly insufficient efficiency. Therefore, while ensuring user safety, Lymow Technology equipped its system with a 300W power drive — 3-5 times higher than comparable market offerings.

Through high-speed rotation, it efficiently handles all grass conditions. The current Lymow One covers 1.75 acres (7,000 square meters) per day, satisfying North American users' needs for frequent mowing of large lawns while using powerful performance to address the time-consuming pain points common with traditional tools.

Beyond industry-leading cutting capability, slope-climbing and obstacle-crossing ability, and cutting efficiency, positioning navigation and obstacle avoidance also represent core algorithmic expertise for the Lymow team. Lymow Technology employs a fusion solution combining RTK with binocular vision algorithms, independently developing the entire underlying algorithm architecture. RTK, through ground-based augmentation systems, achieves centimeter-level position locking, ensuring positioning reliability across wide areas with advantages in precision, boundary control, and high reliability.

Meanwhile, Lymow Technology is the first in lawn-mowing robots to deploy dense depth map technology. Through algorithmic processing of image or sensor data, it generates depth information corresponding to each pixel in a scene, precisely constructing the three-dimensional structure of the environment — including slope and depression variations in yard terrain, lawn boundaries, and the three-dimensional forms of obstacles such as table and chair heights or rock volumes — enabling the mower to clearly "perceive" the spatial distribution of its surroundings.

With the North American market's peak season nearing its end, Lymow Technology will focus in the second half on advancing inventory preparation for next year and accelerating offline channel expansion. This plan both builds capacity reserves ahead of next year's market demand and aims to deepen the channel network to drive continued product penetration in North America, creating synergy with existing online sales and production delivery rhythms.
