Spirit AI Closes 528 Million Yuan Funding Round, Accelerating Full-Scale Iteration | Oasis Capital Vitality
Counselor Vitality
Spirit AI recently announced the completion of a 528 million yuan Pre-A funding round. The round was led by Prosperity7 Ventures (P7), a subsidiary of Aramco Ventures, with participation from China Merchants Capital, GF Xinde Investment Management, Eminence Ventures, Oriental Fortune Capital, Huakong Fund, and other investors. As the lead investor in Spirit AI's seed round, Oasis Capital is honored to have witnessed the company's rapid growth and breakthroughs in just over a year.
Dual-Track Strategy: Technical Breakthroughs and Talent Development
Spirit AI's core competitive advantage lies in its world-class team. Co-founder Yang Gao is a UC Berkeley graduate who studied under Pieter Abbeel, a leading figure in embodied intelligence, focusing on cross-modal robot interaction research. Since its founding, the company has continuously pushed the boundaries of embodied intelligence technology through its strong R&D team.
On the hardware front, Spirit AI's upcoming first commercial humanoid robot, Moz1, is built on the world's highest power-density integrated force-control joints, featuring 26 degrees of freedom (excluding dexterous hands). It achieves industry-leading performance in speed, precision, safety, and biomimetic force control. Compared to Tesla's Optimus, Moz1's integrated joint power density is nearly 15% higher.
On the AI side, its self-developed VLA (Vision-Language-Action) model, Spirit v1, has demonstrated powerful natural language understanding capabilities and has successfully solved the challenge of long-horizon manipulation of deformable objects — becoming the first in China to enable robots to autonomously complete complex tasks such as folding clothes.
The official release of Spirit v1 VLA is expected to be publicly launched soon.
Whether in hardware or software, these achievements fully demonstrate Spirit AI's formidable technical capabilities in embodied intelligence robotics.
Additionally, Spirit AI continues to accelerate the construction of an industry-academia-research integrated talent system, guided by its strategy of "top talent driving disruptive innovation."
The company has already established partnerships with Tsinghua University, Peking University, Zhejiang University, and the Chinese Academy of Sciences to develop targeted graduate training programs, attracting outstanding PhD talent in AI and robotics to further strengthen the team's research capabilities.
For team development, Spirit AI implements a "dual-mentor system for AI + robotics," where experts from both fields jointly guide team members to ensure the cutting-edge nature and practical feasibility of R&D directions. Through interdisciplinary project-based learning, the team rapidly develops expertise across the full pipeline of embodied large model training, hardware iteration, and scenario deployment — with ample growth opportunities and resource support.
Founder and CEO Fengtao Han believes: "Talent density determines technological height. We attract global top talent and enable them to create multiplicative effects at Spirit AI — that is, an innovative synergy where 1+1>2."
A Trillion-Dollar Market on the Eve of Explosive Growth
As an early investor in Spirit AI, Oasis Capital has consistently monitored the current state and long-term prospects of the embodied intelligence sector.
Since 2025, the embodied intelligence field has experienced unprecedented investment enthusiasm and development opportunities. Goldman Sachs predicts that the global humanoid robot market could reach $154 billion by 2035.
As technology matures and supply chains improve, robot costs will decline rapidly and gradually penetrate multiple trillion-dollar markets including intelligent manufacturing, medical rehabilitation, and services — further accelerating commercialization.
Fengtao Han stated: "Spirit AI is committed to building a world-leading embodied intelligence general model and driving breakthroughs and applications in robotics technology. We possess globally leading AI technology, advanced hardware R&D capabilities, and extensive commercialization experience, which have laid a solid foundation for achieving this goal.
Going forward, we will drive technological evolution through real-world scenarios, continuously iterate our VLA model at rapid speed, and advance commercial deployment in trillion-dollar markets such as intelligent manufacturing and services."
Oasis Capital believes Spirit AI will continue to forge ahead in advancing embodied intelligence technology, and we will steadfastly innovate and progress alongside Spirit AI to create the future of embodied intelligence.
