Following a strategic funding round completed in May, general-purpose robotics startup LimX Dynamics has announced additional strategic investments from multiple institutions. The lead investors in this round are China Merchants Capital and Shangqi Capital, the private equity platform under SAIC Group. Notable institutional investors and existing shareholders FreeS Fund, Oasis Capital, and Future Capital also made significant follow-on investments. Within just two months, LimX Dynamics has officially completed its Series A strategic financing, securing backing from six top-tier institutions — three of which are industry-focused lead investors covering strategic application scenarios including AI, automotive manufacturing, logistics, and integrated urban services. Previously, Oasis Capital led LimX Dynamics' Pre-A round.

The goal of LimX Dynamics' Series A financing is to identify matching strategic industry resources and application scenarios in the AI era of general-purpose humanoid robots. While leveraging multimodal large models to accelerate technological breakthroughs in general-purpose humanoid robots, the company aims to drive validation and iteration of these technologies in real-world scenarios, advancing from frontier technology exploration to commercial deployment practice, and laying the technical and industrial groundwork for multi-scenario commercial applications of general-purpose humanoid robots.

General-purpose robotics startup LimX Dynamics completes Series A strategic financing

LimX Dynamics founder Wei Zhang stated: "From the very beginning, we targeted strategic industry investors for our Series A because scenarios equal time, capital, and technology. The AI era of general-purpose humanoid robots demands that tech companies understand scenarios. This funding round brings LimX Dynamics' general-purpose robotics technology into multiple strategic industries spanning 'intelligence,' 'manufacturing,' 'services,' and 'logistics,' helping us deeply engage with and understand these scenarios, accelerating the construction of foundation models for humanoid robots, and ensuring our technology iterations align more closely with real-world needs."

An investment lead at Oasis Capital commented: "LimX Dynamics' academic background and innovative capabilities have positioned it at the forefront of integrating general-purpose humanoid robots with AI. The company continues to tackle long-standing technical bottlenecks in general-purpose humanoid robots, achieving breakthroughs particularly in perception-based motion control and reinforcement learning, opening new pathways for practical applications of general-purpose robotics. Oasis Capital has always been committed to discovering the most vital enterprises of the future and growing alongside them to create long-term value. We believe the LimX Dynamics team will achieve widespread deployment of general-purpose robotics through disruptive technology."

Capital Continues to Deploy, Demonstrating Strong Confidence

Multiple industry giants have entered the embodied intelligence space through strategic investments in LimX Dynamics, reflecting capital markets' and the industry's recognition of the company's technical strength and confidence in its growth prospects. This funding round not only provides substantial financial support for LimX Dynamics' R&D, but more importantly leverages unique industry resources to help the company deeply engage with scenarios, accumulate solid experience in the field, and drive embodied intelligence technology toward real-world deployment.

LimX Dynamics' Series A financing also signals a new direction for the future development of the general-purpose robotics industry, offering clearer direction and objectives for closing the commercial deployment loop.

Technology-Industry Synergy, All for Breakthroughs

In the AI era of general-purpose humanoid robots, LimX Dynamics is focused on the organic integration of LLM (Large Language Models), Spatial Intelligence, and Motion Intelligence in humanoid robots to unlock their maximum potential. Going forward, LimX Dynamics' Motion Intelligence capabilities will be further unleashed and enhanced. Combined with powerful computing support, leading upper-layer AI capabilities, and rich downstream scenarios, whole-body motion control based on multimodal perception and operation capabilities with multi-scenario generalizability will undergo a significant technological leap.

LimX Dynamics — Witnessing a humanoid robot's growth in stair climbing

As a general-purpose robotics R&D and manufacturing company, LimX Dynamics possesses fully self-developed core hardware and software technologies for humanoid robots. The company will next prioritize establishing a Foundation Model for Humanoid Motion Intelligence:

  • Data: Efficiently collecting large-scale, diverse human motion control data through internet video data, human motion capture data, and simulation data

  • Pre-training: Pre-training on this large dataset to enhance the algorithm's foundational motion understanding and generation capabilities, as well as multi-scenario generalizability

  • Reinforcement Learning: Utilizing a Real2Sim2Real closed loop to narrow the gap between simulation and reality, improving the efficiency and quality of reinforcement learning training, and enabling more accurate and stable interaction between humanoid robots and real-world environments
