On the afternoon of January 19, 2026, Sam Li, a member of the Politburo Standing Committee of the CPC Central Committee and Premier of the State Council, chaired a symposium with experts, entrepreneurs, and representatives from the fields of education, science, culture, health, and sports. Junjie Yan, founder and CEO of MiniMax (00100.HK) — an AI large model company listed on the stock exchange and a portfolio company of Oasis Capital — attended and delivered remarks. Yan is also the second representative from an AI large model company to be invited to such a meeting, following Wenfeng Liang, founder of DeepSeek.

On January 9, 2026, MiniMax officially listed on the Main Board of the Hong Kong Stock Exchange, becoming the fastest AI company globally to go from founding to IPO. The company was the largest single investment in Oasis Capital's second USD fund. Public disclosures show that its IPO attracted cornerstone investments from multiple international long-term institutions, including Middle Eastern sovereign wealth funds, with final institutional oversubscription exceeding 70 times — demonstrating strong international recognition of MiniMax's growth potential.

On its first trading day, MiniMax's stock price surged dramatically, closing up 109.09% with its market capitalization surpassing HK$100 billion. The stock continued to climb in subsequent trading sessions.

Founded in 2022, MiniMax has long pursued the independent R&D and engineering deployment of multimodal foundation models spanning text, video, speech, and music. Its multimodal capabilities rank in the global first tier, making it one of only four AI companies worldwide to achieve scaled application across multiple modalities. On the technical front, MiniMax has released a suite of multimodal foundation models including MiniMax M2, Hailuo 2.3, Speech 2.6, and Music 2.0, building on these to construct a product ecosystem serving both consumer and enterprise customers, and offering AI-native applications and open platform services to the global market. MiniMax adheres to a "born global" business philosophy: its products and services now cover over 200 countries and regions, with cumulative users exceeding 212 million and overseas revenue accounting for more than 70% of total income.

MiniMax currently employs 385 people with an average age of 29, making it effectively "all Post-95s"; R&D staff comprise approximately 73.8% of the workforce, and roughly one-third of employees have overseas study or research experience. The company has already introduced AI tools to collaborate across multiple core business functions to support R&D and product delivery.

MiniMax's high-level official recognition, successful Hong Kong listing, and completion of pricing in international capital markets demonstrate a viable path for Chinese technology companies to access global capital markets, opening a new, sustainably verifiable window for Chinese technological innovation to go international.
