Oasis Capital Portfolio Company Yu Zhuangpei Completes Series B Funding Round | Oasis Vitality

Zhongyu Assembly, a manufacturer of prefabricated interior components and parts systems, recently completed its Series B funding round led by Atypical Ventures. The capital will be used primarily for building new factories and product R&D. Prior to this, the company had completed four funding rounds with investors including Oasis Capital, Nusun Capital, Zhulu Capital, and Ether Capital. Founded in 2018, Zhongyu Assembly specializes in the systematic manufacturing of prefabricated interior finishing components, with a focus on R&D of building materials and components, optimization of intelligent production lines, and establishment of large-scale manufacturing bases. It provides users with component products and full-chain system solutions. Through fully industrialized production, the company has achieved large-scale batch production and supply, with applications spanning apartments, hotels, commercial spaces, commodity housing, and numerous other sectors.

The company's brand portfolio includes Zhongyu Assembly and Saint Boya Wall Panels. It has developed five major prefabricated interior finishing systems: prefabricated ceiling systems, prefabricated wall systems, prefabricated flooring systems, integrated bathrooms, and integrated kitchens — comprising over 100 types of prefabricated decorative panels and structural components suitable for projects with tight schedules, high requirements, and standardized specifications.

According to data from Yiou Research, in 2020 the public and residential decoration markets totaled approximately 2.40 trillion and 3.54 trillion RMB respectively, with combined annual output nearing 6 trillion RMB — roughly 6% of China's GDP. Yet across the entire renovation industry, the market remains extremely fragmented, long characterized by a "large industry, small companies" structure, with high renovation costs, information opacity, and low-frequency consumption — all inseparable from the highly non-standardized nature of design and construction. Prefabricated renovation represents a new direction, with building material manufacturers and renovation space providers accelerating their layout and transformation.

Founder Tangxiang Wu notes that Zhongyu Assembly entered the prefabricated renovation market by capitalizing on three market signals. First, efficiency: commercial chains, budget hotels, and branded rental apartments have clear demands for shorter renovation timelines, with industrialized intelligent manufacturing and on-site assembly saving substantial time. Second, energy efficiency and environmental protection: the nine ministries' promotion of prefabricated construction and government-led large-scale projects require prefabricated renovation to meet assembly rates and energy-saving targets. Third, cost advantages: in coming years, prefabricated interior finishing costs will fall 10% below traditional renovation, and the entire prefabricated market will fully explode — early positioning is key.

Zhongyu Assembly has established its market advantages through three major channels.

Strategic channel: Priority placement of strategic customers. The company's business currently spans the Yangtze River Delta, Pearl River Delta, and Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region, serving major clients on both the developer and contractor sides. It has previously established cooperation on large-scale project supporting services with Jinke Real Estate, Chengjian Yatai, Gold Mantis, China Construction Eighth Engineering Division, Chengjian Qi, China Resources Land, Greentown Group, and Guangtian.

Engineering channel: A city partner program. Specifically centered on Jiangsu, Zhejiang, and Shanghai, Zhongyu has leveraged the "Zhongyu Assembly" brand to establish strategic partnerships with over 20 city partners, with partners fully responsible for engineering business agency work. The company has established a training center to serve and support partners.

New retail channel: The company launched the Saint Boya Wall Panels brand, primarily targeting the residential decoration market with integrated R&D, production, sales, and services for wall customization and supporting products. According to founder Tangxiang Wu, Saint Boya has currently established over 100 specialty stores nationwide, serving tens of thousands of households, and has become a leading brand in the wall panel industry.

Founder Tangxiang Wu stated that Zhongyu Assembly has invested in building multiple intelligent manufacturing bases for prefabricated components nationwide and continues to lay out new factories, reducing costs through large-scale, intelligent production. With self-developed industrialized, intelligent production lines, factories have achieved 24-hour non-stop production. In addition to its Yancheng intelligent manufacturing base, the Xuzhou intelligent manufacturing base will commence production within the year, covering 100 mu with annual output value projected to reach 600 million RMB.

Numerous startups populate the renovation track. One category comprises standardized design and construction service providers with internet attributes, such as Aispace, Zhuangfanr, and inDeco. Another category uses prefabricated renovation technology for standardized quality control and improved delivery efficiency, represented by companies like Heneng Renju, Kaizhuang, and Pinzhai Decoration. Several other major categories include internet platforms connecting renovation companies with consumers, renovation rendering design SaaS and BIM systems, and B2B brands for primary and auxiliary materials. Zhongyu Assembly's positioning focuses on R&D and manufacturing of prefabricated interior finishing components, providing products and derivative services to various space service providers, real estate companies, construction units, and C-end customers.

Zhongyu Assembly's revenue comes primarily from sales of prefabricated interior finishing components, with engineering production based on order demand and retail through direct sales of standardized products.

The company currently employs over 80 people, with more than 100 industrial workers at its production bases and a professional R&D team focused on new materials and application technologies for prefabricated interior finishing components. Founder Tangxiang Wu previously served as an executive at Oriental Yuhong, with extensive experience in intelligent product manufacturing. Co-founder Baowei Liang, a Zhejiang University materials science graduate, previously served as deputy general manager and research institute director at Beixin Building Materials, with over 20 years in prefabricated industry research.
