12 kg, 21 joints — Yueban Dynamics is redefining what it means for a robot to be truly alive.
Endow robots with a soul and warmth that transcend mere utility.
Yueban Dynamics is defining what it means to build a robot with genuine vitality.
It breaks free from pre-scripted behaviors and "entertainment-first" interaction logic, built around five core traits: biomimetic form and texture, exceptional dynamic performance, proactive empathetic interaction, long-term memory retention, and evolving personality. It can generate emotions, interact naturally, and grow continuously — like a real living being. Rather than competing on specs or getting trapped in the tool-functionality race, it prioritizes companionship over utility: a soothing appearance, natural movements, and a distinctive voice that together forge deep emotional bonds, giving the robot a soul and warmth that transcend mere toolhood.
In under six months, the Yueban team has built out the full stack — bipedal hardware, motion control, and interaction — creating a distinctly differentiated form factor centered on compact size plus high dynamic performance, with an innovative full-body soft shell and tactile experience.
Compact and Highly Dynamic, Setting a Triple Benchmark for Safety, Texture, and Performance
Designed from the ground up for home environments and safety, Yueban has developed a proprietary bipedal form tailored for both indoor and outdoor scenarios.
The robot's entire body is wrapped in a skin-like flexible shell with 95% coverage, reaching up to 2cm of flexible depth in specific areas. Body temperature is maintained at 35–40°C, balancing thermal management with a warm, pleasant touch. A dense array of tactile sensors covers the body, combined with quasi-direct-drive joint torque feedback, enabling full-body impedance-based natural interaction. Ultra-quiet lattice energy-absorbing feet keep home walking noise below 50dB, sidestepping the stomping noise problem that plagues humanoid robots. The arms achieve a continuous-deformation-like range of motion through a specially designed folding structure — unique in the industry.
The robot has 21 joints across its body, stands 0.65m tall, and weighs 12kg. Its distinctive waist-hip integrated structure ensures full-body pose reachability. At 0.65m, the height hits a sweet spot for walking speed, lightweight design, terrain adaptability, and a meaningful physical presence in home spaces; at 12kg, it weighs about as much as a child under two.
In terms of locomotion, the L0 pushes past the performance ceiling for bipedal robots under 70cm, with a maximum running speed approaching 2m/s — exceeding typical adult walking pace of 1.1–1.3m/s. Maximum foot lift reaches 15cm, enough to clear outdoor park steps meeting GB standards, making it fully capable across home and urban terrain. The robot's dynamic operating footprint is just 0.125 square meters, roughly the size of two sheets of A4 paper, with up to 4 hours of battery life on a single charge.
Natural Interaction, Redefining Partnership and Capability
For voice interaction, Yueban has abandoned the industry's generic broadcast-announcer tones and meaningless vocal mimicry. Instead, drawing from Swahili phonetics, it has created an original minimal complete language unit built from 12 native base words.
This system can generate over a thousand vocal flows covering 500 core life intents, then layer in 8 core emotional expressions and 17 foundational home scenarios to produce more than 50,000 richly imagistic emotional expressions. The deliberate use of limited vocabulary paired with tonal and contextual留白 creates space for empathetic association, striking directly at human feeling. The innovation extends to an "acoustic genetic" voice concept: each robot possesses a unique, family-attributed专属声线, cultivating authentic vitality and a sense of belonging as a family member.
Behavioral interaction comprises three integrated components — static posture, dynamic gait, and interactive actions — all generated through the interplay of personality baseline, real-time emotion, and vocal tone.
Static posture serves as the emotional foundation, communicating states like happiness, timidity, or laziness through body shape and stance. Dynamic gait gives emotion its flow, expressing curiosity, melancholy, or liveliness through walking rhythm and pace. Interactive actions respond to external touch and engagement with stylized instantaneous reactions — nuzzling, acting spoiled, playfully resisting.
Through an action generation model, the same emotion produces differentiated interactive styles across different personalities, creating a unique temperament per machine that grows more distinct with time. This is how vitality gets woven into every movement and interaction.
Yueban also applies interpersonal proxemics, translating physical spatial distance into emotional attitude. The robot divides space into four zones — intimate, personal, social, and public — recognizing different identities and dynamically adapting follow distance, approach speed, circumvention logic, and stopping posture. These adjust in real time according to emotion and personality, with automatic behavioral priority arbitration in multi-person scenarios.
The robot's eyes are composed of six-layer skeletal animation; the gaze is not merely display, but a direct vessel of emotion. It perceives external emotional signals in real time, dynamically adjusting pupil size, blink frequency, and eye movement rhythm to give the gaze natural fluidity and breath.
Self-Developed Three-Layer Fast-Slow Brain Architecture, From Multimodal Perception to Autonomous Decision-Making for Personalized Behavior
Yueban Dynamics has pioneered a three-tier edge-cloud collaborative fast-slow brain architecture, focusing on high-level decision-making rather than low-level skills, balancing sub-second low latency with highly complex logical reasoning. The cloud slow brain and edge slow brain handle asynchronous complex inference and strategy formulation, while the edge fast brain manages sub-second instantaneous action selection. A multi-level memory framework incorporating Auto-dream technology achieves permanent retention of key events and non-forgetting long-term memory through automatic dream-like compression and comprehension. Personality is defined through a multi-dimensional quantitative system, so each machine arrives with a distinct personality from day one and autonomously develops it dynamically through long-term memory.
Unlike the industry's prevalent preset rules and prompt scheduling, Yueban's emotional brain module is data-driven: early training relies on a self-developed home-world simulator to generate training samples, later integrating real in-home data for continuous iteration.
To solve the cold-start problem in robot interaction, Yueban has built the world's first super-simulator focused on high-level decision-making and emotional interaction, supporting over 500 hours of long-term continuous interaction in a single session to generate high-quality training data at scale and minimal cost. After model iteration through the simulator, end users will accumulate massive volumes of authentic interaction data on human behavior and emotional change, forming an irreplicable data flywheel and competitive moat.
