ZhenFund angel project "Future Not Far" closes 200 million yuan angel round, pioneering consumer-grade deployment of general-purpose home robots
The funds will be primarily used for product iteration of general-purpose home robots and enhancements to core algorithms and system capabilities.

In June 2022, Zhang Yi first shared with me his vision for a general-purpose home robot. Over the three and a half years since, he chose a difficult but enduringly valuable path: full-stack self-development, relentlessly pursuing robustness and generalization capability.
While the industry went through cycles and many companies pivoted toward easier-to-commercialize directions, his team remained disciplined and focused. For three years, the company skipped trade shows, avoided PR, and poured all its energy into technology and product — all for one goal: to be the first general-purpose robot to enter real homes.
It wasn't until 2025 that ZhenFund, as the first outside institution, saw the robot codenamed F1. This was a fully self-developed general-purpose home robot with complete hardware and software. F1 doesn't show off or perform; it simply focuses on completing the most authentic, complex, and tedious tasks in the home. The robustness it demonstrated in task execution surprised us.
Subsequently, F1 entered hundreds of real homes for testing, accumulating tens of thousands of hours of real-world runtime data — extremely rare in this industry, and forming the core moat for its continuously evolving general capabilities.

On January 12, Futuring Robot, China's first general-purpose robotics company focused on consumer home scenarios, announced the completion of a 200 million yuan angel round. Led by ZhenFund, with participation from Lianxin Capital, Yuanlai Capital, and some existing shareholders of Zhangmen, the round brings total funding to 200 million yuan. The capital will primarily go toward iterating its home general-purpose robot product, advancing core algorithms and system capabilities, and deploying at larger scale in real home environments.
Against the backdrop of embodied intelligence becoming an industry focal point, Futuring Robot has chosen a path centered on real-world home deployment. Since its founding in 2022, the company has explicitly focused on consumer home scenarios, advancing product design and technical iteration around genuine user needs, continuously exploring the commercial viability of general-purpose robots in home environments.
Since launching real-world testing in the second half of 2025, Futuring Robot has entered over 200 real homes, providing more than 21,000 hours of home services, becoming one of the first domestic household robot products to achieve paid consumer trials. Prototype trial satisfaction reached 96.8%, with strong user willingness to pay for rentals. Existing prototypes are fully booked, providing data and market validation foundations for subsequent product sales and scaled deployment.

Through long-term real-world operation, Futuring Robot has gradually built a positive flywheel from data to model. Based on tens of millions of real home scenario data points, the company independently constructed an AVLA (Audio-Visual-Language-Action) end-to-end model system oriented toward dynamic home environments, covering perception, cognition, decision-making, and execution. This system has been validated across hundreds of non-standard, continuously changing home environments, achieving tens of thousands of hours of normalized autonomous operation while maintaining a 100% safety record — providing technical support for stable operation of general-purpose home robots in real environments.
Based on the AVLA end-to-end model system, the robot can uniformly map visual, voice, and force feedback multimodal information into a shared "semantic understanding space," completing cross-modal understanding and task planning, and dynamically calling required capabilities from an atomic skill expert library. Even when facing vague instructions, the robot can decompose and execute tasks in complex home environments. This makes Futuring Robot one of the first domestic robotics companies to land end-to-end algorithms in real home environments.

While advancing product R&D, Futuring Robot has also connected with the public through a more approachable approach. Founder and CEO Zhang Yi documents the robot's operation in real homes through social platforms, drawing widespread attention with cumulative views exceeding 100 million, further raising public awareness of this new form of home robot product.
Futuring Robot Founder and CEO Zhang Yi stated that robotics technology can only be fully tested in real scenarios: "Robots must leave the incubator of the laboratory and go learn and grow amid the complexity of real homes." Zhang Yi previously founded and led an education company to a successful IPO, and his deep insight into user needs runs through Futuring Robot's product development. The company has assembled a technical team from top global universities and enterprises, invested over 100 million yuan across three years, and completed full-stack self-development from core components and algorithm systems to finished products.

Following this funding round, Futuring Robot plans to officially launch its "Thousand-Home Trial Program" in 2026, further expanding robot deployment in real home scenarios. Meanwhile, the company's second-generation robot product — addressing broader home needs with comprehensively upgraded capabilities — has entered pre-launch preparation.
As embodied intelligence moves from laboratory experiments toward real-world deployment, Futuring Robot continues advancing the commercial exploration of general-purpose home robots around the home — a high-frequency, complex, and enduringly present application scenario.
