ZhenFund early-stage portfolio company Flexiv completes Series C funding round of over $100 million, marking acceleration in general-purpose robotics commercialization | Z News
Proceeds from this round will primarily go toward capacity expansion, R&D, and ecosystem development.

On June 23, Flexiv officially announced the completion of its Series C funding round, raising over $100 million. The round was jointly led by Yonggui Fund and GF Xinde Investment, with follow-on investments from Hongtai Fund and Huakong Fund. Existing shareholders Gaorong Capital, eGarden Ventures, and Mfund also continued to participate. Proceeds will primarily go toward capacity expansion, R&D, and ecosystem development. ZhenFund had previously participated in the company's Series A round.
"Flexiv has spent nearly a decade developing general-purpose intelligent robots, building a full-stack technical system covering adaptive robot hardware, hierarchical intelligence, and an operating system ecosystem — all focused on creating a general-purpose robotics platform that can support diverse application forms," said Shiquan Wang, co-founder and CEO of Flexiv. "Thanks to our long-term commitment to a differentiated approach and relentless product optimization, we keep pushing the boundaries of what robots can do. With a minimal product lineup, we address automation pain points across industries for complex tasks and varied processes. We've already opened up large-scale application scenarios in automotive, home appliances, consumer electronics, food, and medical sectors, working continuously with ecosystem partners to develop new business and empower end customers to improve their manufacturing productivity. We appreciate the recognition and ongoing support from both new and existing shareholders. This funding marks Flexiv's entry into a phase of full-scale commercial acceleration, providing a solid foundation for production ramp-up, business expansion, ecosystem cultivation, and continued exploration of forward-looking technologies."
Founded in 2016, Flexiv is a global leader in general-purpose intelligent robotics, established by core members of Stanford University's Robotics and AI Lab. The company pioneered the new category of "adaptive robots," with human-like behavior as its core philosophy. It abstracts human "touch" into extreme force control capabilities and translates hand-eye coordination into a hierarchical intelligent system that gives robots generalized manipulation abilities — significantly improving their ability to handle complex working conditions while enhancing process versatility and adaptability.

While focusing on core technology R&D, Flexiv has actively participated in industry standardization efforts. The national standard it led the development of — Technical Requirements for Robot Adaptive Capability — has been officially released, further advancing the systematic construction of technical standards and capability evaluation for this entirely new category of adaptive robots and filling a gap both domestically and internationally.
The company has consistently pursued a long-term approach, steadily advancing underlying technology innovation and commercialization. It has now achieved a leap from single-point validation to multi-industry replication, entering a stage of scaled, accelerated growth.
On the business side, Flexiv has served dozens of global top-tier customers, enabling smart manufacturing upgrades across hundreds of core process steps in industries including 3C electronics, automotive and home appliances, food and agriculture, biotech and medical, aerospace, and new energy — accumulating highly valuable deployment cases and achieving scaled application in complex tasks such as grinding and polishing, insertion and assembly, and food processing. On the ecosystem side, Flexiv has established close partnerships with system integrators and university research institutions, building a solid and scalable commercial foundation.
As AI accelerates its penetration into production environments, Flexiv is leveraging its "general force control capabilities + AI-native architecture + data loop potential" to help build cross-industry, cross-form robotics infrastructure, continuously providing innovative solutions and industrial value to global partners.
