A Conversation with KY Qianzhuang: When Healing Becomes a Generational Need, Does a More Universal Form of Mental Health Service Exist?
January 16, 2024
This episode's guest is Qian Zhuang, founder of KnowYourself.
After earning her master's in clinical mental health from Columbia University, Qian Zhuang founded KnowYourself (Zhiwo Tansuo) in 2016. What began as a self-media operation has evolved into a lifestyle brand and digital mental health innovation platform that has accompanied over 20 million people, with the mission of lowering barriers to mental health services through "digital and standardized" products and services.
In February 2023, Qian Zhuang officially stepped down as CEO to focus on her role as a psychology expert, beginning the second act of her career. She recently finished recording a new episode of the variety show The Battle of Passionate Love, while also busy preparing her second book.
In this episode, we discuss her reflections on this recent identity transition, KY's exploratory journey with psychology product formats, and her observations on evolving market demand and the industry landscape. As healing becomes a generational need, will more universally accessible forms of psychological services emerge?
