ZhenFund angel project "OMOWAY" closes two consecutive funding rounds, becomes Indonesia's top electric motorcycle brand by orders in its first month on the market

OMOWAY recently announced the completion of two consecutive funding rounds — a Series A and a Series A+ — each raising tens of millions of dollars. The Series A+ was led by Lochpine Capital, a USD fund established with backing from industry giant CATL. The Series A was led by Monolith, with participation from CICC Capital funds and existing investor ZhenFund. In 2024, ZhenFund became OMOWAY's lead investor in its seed round, supporting the company from team building and product development through to official launch, as they advance together toward a new era of intelligent electric two-wheeled mobility.

Less than two years since its founding, OMOWAY has announced multiple funding rounds and assembled a roster of top-tier financial investors (HSG, ZhenFund, Monolith, CICC) alongside strategic industry investors (in addition to Lochpine Capital, Star Navigation Capital is an Xpeng Motors-affiliated fund, and Huiyou Capital is an industry fund founded by a BYD co-founder), making it one of the most closely watched companies in the sector.

For a long time, the global motorcycle market has been dominated by Japanese gasoline-powered brands, with fuel motorcycles defining the 1.0 era of two-wheeled mobility and electrification pushing the industry into the 2.0 era. The motorcycle industry still faces the challenge of "high premiums for premium smart products, weak technology in affordable products." OMOWAY's first product, the OMO-X — built around intelligent perception, smart interaction, and active safety — is driving two-wheeled mobility toward an intelligence-driven 3.0 era.

In June, OMOWAY's flagship OMO-X began its first global deliveries, with Indonesia as the inaugural market. In its first month on sale, the OMO-X ranked first in nationwide electric motorcycle orders in Indonesia.

The OMO-X comes standard with digital key, large-screen navigation, remote vehicle control, and other intelligent features. The OMO-X Balance (self-balancing version) includes low-speed balance assist as standard, delivering an upgraded experience for local consumers from "basic transportation" to "easy, smart, efficient" mobility. With the OMO-X deliveries, OMOWAY will disrupt the established landscape of traditional mobility products in the market and is positioned to become the top-selling electric motorcycle brand in Indonesia within six months.

For motorcycles, "easy to tip over" has always been a pain point.

To solve this, the OMOWAY team conducted hundreds of user research sessions and thousands of iterations on core components, developing self-balancing technology entirely in-house and bringing it from prototype to mass production. The OMO-X Balance (self-balancing version) is the world's first mass-produced self-balancing motorcycle, and deliveries have already begun.

The underlying foundation for the OMO-X's dynamic capabilities is OMOWAY's self-developed OMO-ROBOT general-purpose technology architecture, which covers the full closed loop of perception, decision-making, execution, and information transmission. Built on this architecture, OMOWAY has developed Mobility One, a 100% self-developed wheeled robot, with a prototype expected to be unveiled this year.

As a global technology company, OMOWAY is accelerating the worldwide rollout of its intelligent two-wheeled products. Indonesia is OMOWAY's first stop; the company already has dozens of dealers there, covering core areas in East and West Java including Jakarta, Bandung, and Surabaya, as well as Bali. Going forward, OMOWAY will enter Thailand, Singapore, and European markets.
