Oricell Therapeutics Closes First Tranche of $70M Series C to Accelerate Global Development of Solid Tumor CAR-T Therapies
A global leader in innovative tumor immunotherapy

Oricell Therapeutics Holdings Limited ("Oricell"), a global leader in innovative tumor immunotherapy, recently announced the completion of a $70 million Series C1 funding round. The round was led by the Beijing Medical and Health Industry Investment Fund, Qiming Venture Partners, and a globally leading healthcare fund. The proceeds will accelerate Oricell's international expansion and clinical development, while strengthening its technical capabilities in cell therapy and the value of its commercial pipeline.

As an innovative pioneer in cell therapy, Oricell remains committed to developing CAR-T cell therapies with global clinical value, with multiple pipelines already generating proof-of-concept (POC) clinical data. Leveraging its proprietary Ori®Ab antibody screening and engineering platform, Ori®Armoring structural platform, and OnGo(Fast)CMC process expertise, Oricell has established differentiated pipelines that occupy a leading position in global CAR-T technology.
Oricell's Ori-C101 is an autologous CAR-T drug targeting GPC3 for advanced hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). It has completed a Phase I investigator-initiated clinical study and a registrational Phase I clinical trial, and is preparing to initiate a pivotal Phase II trial. Clinical data readouts have demonstrated excellent efficacy and safety, with presentations at top international academic conferences including ASCO. This product is positioned to become the world's first approved CAR-T therapy for hepatocellular carcinoma.
Meanwhile, Oricell's full platform is yielding multiple next-generation multi-target, multi-mechanism CAR-T products. Its innovative secretory CAR-T OriC902 has achieved breakthrough efficacy in ultra-refractory solid tumor patients. The company's self-developed dual-target in vivo CAR-T product has initiated exploratory clinical studies, validating the technical potential of "off-the-shelf CAR-T" — generating CAR-T cells directly in the patient's body, significantly improving accessibility to cellular medicines.
Dr. Huanfeng Yang, Co-founder and CEO of Oricell, stated: "We are deeply grateful for our investors' confidence in the company. We will continue to focus on global clinical advancement of our core pipelines, in vivo products, and cutting-edge technology R&D. Drawing on our deep technical expertise and current opportunities in policy and market conditions, we will accelerate development of our clinical-stage products and deliver more breakthrough cell therapy solutions, bringing new hope for a cure to cancer patients worldwide as we steadily advance toward becoming a global leader in immunotherapy."
Mr. Ren Peng, Chairman and General Manager of Beijing Shunxi Private Equity Fund Management Co., Ltd., said: "We believe cell therapy represents a critical direction for conquering solid tumors. Oricell's clinical progress with GPC3 CAR-T in treating liver cancer has been truly impressive. We highly recognize the team's R&D capabilities and commercial vision, and expect this funding round to help accelerate global clinical breakthroughs for the company's core products."
William Hu, Managing Partner at Qiming Venture Partners, commented: "As an early investor in Oricell, we have accompanied and witnessed the company's deep cultivation and step-by-step advancement in the CAR-T field — from autologous CAR-T to secretory CAR-T, to 3-day rapid manufacturing processes, and its forward-looking layout in in vivo CAR-T. We have seen the company's continued pioneering in R&D. We are pleased to participate in the process of potentially generating globally breakthrough technologies and products."
This funding round was led by the Beijing Medical and Health Industry Investment Fund, Qiming Venture Partners, and a globally leading healthcare fund, with participation from QIA (Qatar Sovereign Wealth Fund), NGS (Australian pension fund), Beijing E-Town International Investment & Development Co., Ltd., Lichen Capital, Ruifeng Capital, and other institutions.
