Recently, the "2025 Global Poverty Reduction Partnership Seminar" was held in Beijing, where the "Best Poverty Reduction Cases of the 6th Global Poverty Reduction Case Collection Campaign" were officially announced. On this notable list, "Qiming Venture Partners · Rural Revitalization Entrepreneur Support Program" was named among the honorees.
The "Qiming Venture Partners · Rural Revitalization Entrepreneur Support Program" will be included, alongside other outstanding cases, in the South-South Cooperation Poverty Reduction Knowledge Sharing website — the China-Global Poverty Reduction Case Database and Online Sharing Platform — sharing vivid stories of China's rural revitalization with the world.
This is not merely an honor, but a profound tribute to the rural entrepreneurs who have rooted themselves in the countryside, irrigating the land with their sweat and igniting hope with their wisdom.
The "Global Poverty Reduction Case Collection Campaign" is jointly organized by seven institutions: the International Poverty Reduction Center in China, the China Internet Information Center, the World Bank, the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations, the International Fund for Agricultural Development, the United Nations World Food Programme, and the Asian Development Bank. It solicits original and outstanding poverty reduction cases from organizations and individuals worldwide who care about poverty alleviation, aiming to promote and share successful poverty reduction practices across countries through case studies.
Turning the clock back four years, at the end of 2021, driven by a shared commitment to rural revitalization, Qiming Venture Partners and the China Foundation for Rural Development joined hands to launch the "Rural Revitalization Entrepreneur Support Program."
The program is dedicated to driving innovation in rural industrial development and social service delivery. It plans to train and empower 2,000 rural entrepreneurs and cultivate 40 social organizations in 40 counties.
The "Rural Revitalization Entrepreneur Support Program" combines the resources of a venture capital firm with the practical experience of a public welfare organization, providing comprehensive support and cultivation for entrepreneurs committed to rural industries and social causes. Like a precisely focused beam of light, it steadily illuminates the path forward for rural entrepreneurs.

Chen Xiaolong: The "Fruit Brother" Who Overcame Disability
In Chen Xiaolong's crisp plum orchard in Banqiaohe Village, Fengcheng Town, Xuanhan County, Sichuan, plump fruit glistens with a honeyed sheen in the sunlight.
Who would have imagined that this "Fruit Brother," who has led more than 100 farming households to prosperity, suffered from polio as a child and was classified as having "congenital grade 3 physical disability."
At 18, Chen Xiaolong went to work in Guangzhou. Lacking experience and skills, he was turned away by factories and could only take on the hardest, most grueling manual labor.
Later, he met a kind-hearted boss. Through his own efforts and sincerity, he won the recognition of his boss and colleagues. He found his footing at a gas company, yet he knew in his heart: "Working for someone else is not a long-term solution."
In 2008, he returned to his hometown to start a business, dabbling in multiple industries. Seeing the barren land in his hometown, in 2014 he began growing fruit, and in 2016 established the Xuanhan County Xiaolong Planting Professional Cooperative.
Many fellow villagers didn't understand: "Xiaolong, with your legs and feet not so convenient, why bother with all this?" He didn't say much, just headed to the fields before dawn every day, the calluses on his hands growing thicker and thicker. And so, the cooperative gradually thrived, and he became the affectionately nicknamed "Fruit Brother" among his fellow villagers.
The "cooperative + base + farming household" model soon boosted incomes for surrounding residents, but Chen Xiaolong always felt something was missing.
In 2022, he seized the opportunity to apply for training at Mengding Mountain Academy.
Many people from Xuanhan County applied, and the rigorous interview eliminated candidate after candidate. In the end, only he remained. "For previous training programs, you could just sign up and attend. The interview here was so strict my palms were sweating. This opportunity was incredibly precious."
The training opened his eyes: "A cooperative isn't child's play. You have to speak with data and manage people with systems." Chen Xiaolong wrote down every financial regulation he learned in his notebook, and put the cooperative management standards he learned into practice. In 2025, he also received "seed funding" from the Rural Revitalization Entrepreneur Support Program.
With seed funding and continuous empowerment from Mengding Mountain Academy, the cooperative now employs more than 60 people year-round, increasing per capita annual income for participating households by 15,000 yuan. The model he created — "cooperative + base + disabled persons' equity dividends + village collective economy" — has become a template promoted throughout the county.
"I've been rained on, so I always want to hold an umbrella for others." Chen Xiaolong gazed at the busy villagers in his orchard. "Now, that umbrella is finally up."

Jing Yongxue: The "Gold Medal Salesman" of Jingning Apples
Standing in an apple orchard in Jingning County, Gansu, 60-year-old Jing Yongxue gently runs his fingers over the bright red apples on the branches, the light in his eyes even more vivid and moving than the fruit's luster.
This light — he waited forty years for it on the Loess Plateau.
In 1984, 19-year-old Jing Yongxue graduated from agricultural school and returned to Jingning County with his bedding roll. Back then, on the Loess Plateau, fellow villagers clung to a few acres of thin soil, watching helplessly as pests devoured their orchards, and even the good fruit they managed to grow could only be sold cheaply to fruit dealers.
"We must make the yellow earth grow not just crops, but good days." This simple belief became the obsession of half his lifetime.
In 2007, when the Law on Farmers' Professional Cooperatives took effect, Jing Yongxue finally found his direction. He applied to establish the Jingning County Gerui Apple Professional Cooperative and registered the "Hulu River" brand, leading fellow villagers in unified planting and management.
The cooperative gradually gained momentum, but a new challenge appeared: how could good apples escape the Loess Plateau and reach the entire country?
The turning point came in late autumn 2022. Recommended by the Gansu Provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, Jing Yongxue passed through multiple rounds of screening at the Sichuan Mengding Mountain Cooperative Development Training Academy (abbreviated as "Mengding Mountain Academy"), becoming a member of the "Qiming Venture Partners · Rural Revitalization Entrepreneur Support Program."
On the day of the interview, the Mengding Mountain Academy interviewer asked him: "What do you need most?" He answered frankly: "I just want to know what the next step should be."
This sentence captured the voice of too many rural entrepreneurs.
In the training at Mengding Mountain Academy, he was like an eager student, filling entire notebooks with knowledge about cooperative standardized management. During on-site practical training, he visited companies like JD.com and Douyin, learning up close about "live-streaming sales" and "brand marketing."
In 2023, he received "seed funding" from the Rural Revitalization Entrepreneur Support Program, which gave him even more confidence. With Mengding Mountain Academy's facilitation, Jing Yongxue brought carefully packaged Jingning apples to the Hangzhou International E-commerce Expo, negotiating deals with global merchants in his accented Mandarin.
"Eat apples from all over the world, and you'll still crave Jingning apples!" Today, Jing Yongxue is full of confidence about the future.
He plans to continue building a Jingning apple cultivation standardization demonstration zone, establish a rural revitalization leader practical training base, and form a Jingning apple joint sales flagship team — determined to let the fragrance of apples from the Loess Plateau travel even farther.

Tang Qiyun: The "Childhood Dream Guardian" in the Wumeng Mountains
Yiliang County, Yunnan Province, lies deep in the Wumeng Mountains. Tang Qiyun pushes open the door of Hexin Social Work Service Center, where the walls are covered with children's drawings. One stands out in particular: the sun is multicolored, and trees grow out of the houses.
"This was drawn by Xiaodong," Tang Qiyun says softly. "His parents are gone. He used to be silent all day, but now when he sees me, he'll actively call out 'Teacher Tang.'"
Tang Qiyun's own childhood was also a scar. Because his family was poor, he dropped out of school three times, and three times returned to the classroom through the encouragement of teachers and family, relying on sheer tenacity to get into Northeast Forestry University.
Upon graduating in 2014, he resolutely became a professional public welfare worker. In 2017, he returned to his hometown of Yiliang and founded the Hexin Social Work Service Center.
In those early years, the team did everything — student aid, elderly care, community services — spreading themselves ever wider, their energy ever more scattered. "It was like running in a swamp, giving it everything, yet always spinning in place." That's how Tang Qiyun described those difficult days.
In 2023, the "Qiming Venture Partners · Rural Revitalization Entrepreneur Support Program" was like a beam of light, piercing through the gloom of the Wumeng Mountains. Tang Qiyun made a bold decision — to "do subtraction," focusing all his energy on "accompanying children in difficult circumstances."
The team settled down and compiled the Service Manual for Children in Difficult Circumstances. From child identification, file management, to grant distribution and supporter adoption, every step was written into standards. This manual later became a reference model for many social organizations.
"Without the support of the 'Qiming Venture Partners · Rural Revitalization Entrepreneur Support Program,' I absolutely wouldn't have had the confidence to make such a decision," Tang Qiyun said firmly.
During the 2024 "99 Giving Day," while many public welfare organizations saw their fundraising plummet due to adjusted rules, Hexin Social Work raised 660,000 yuan — 120,000 more than the previous year. Tang Qiyun says it's like a "snowball," growing bigger and more stable as it rolls.
Today, Tang Qiyun is no longer a public welfare worker running around alone. Team members have enhanced their professional capabilities through external training, and he himself has transformed from an executor who "did everything personally" into a supporter who "empowers the team."
"I used to carry everything myself. Now I know I need to empower the team." He gazes at the children's drawings on the wall. "As long as these children can have a bright future, all the effort is worth it."

Cui Suying: The Companion from Desk to Heart
Cui Suying's connection to public welfare began with a student aid activity in 2012. Back then, she and her husband ran an advertising shop, and in their spare time they would participate in activities organized by the Dangchang County Renjian You'ai Volunteer Association.
At first, public welfare was a kind of spiritual consolation in a busy life; gradually, this consolation became a responsibility etched into her bones.
In 2020, Cui Suying took over the Dangchang County Renjian You'ai Volunteer Association. At that time, the association was a typical "three-no" organization — no full-time staff, no branded programs, no stable funding.
She gritted her teeth and transformed it, launching the "Dangchang Fragrant Study Room Initiative," creating exclusive small study rooms for orphans and de facto unsupported children aged 6-18. But she understood that enthusiasm alone wouldn't take them far.
Just when she was at her wit's end, the support from the "Qiming Venture Partners · Rural Revitalization Entrepreneur Support Program" came at exactly the right time.
Cui Suying seized it like a lifeline, inviting external supervision and training teams to address weaknesses one by one, from project management to financial planning. Every time she went out for training, she filled notebooks with notes and shared them with the team one by one upon her return.
She restructured job responsibilities and established a five-person full-time team. Facing volunteers, she communicated openly: "Full-time staff are the engine of the project, volunteers are its wings — we are indispensable to each other."
Through training and team-building, volunteers found a sense of belonging, and what was once a loose team gradually cohered into a unified force.
The "Dangchang Fragrant Study Room Initiative" has built small study rooms for more than 300 orphans and de facto unsupported children, complete with desks, stationery, and books.
But Cui Suying discovered that hardware was only the first step. One child who had been so introverted he wouldn't speak only opened up after three months of continuous accompaniment from social workers.
"The power of accompaniment is far greater than a desk." Cui Suying shifted services from "hardware" to "software," assigning dedicated volunteers to each child for regular communication and personalized tutoring. The changes in the children made her even more certain of her direction.
Today, the "Dangchang+" public welfare network is taking shape. Cui Suying integrates resources from government, enterprises, and social organizations, weaving the entire county's public welfare forces into a single rope. "We're not just doing a project — we're weaving a net, a net that can catch all the children," Cui Suying says.

Rural Revitalization Depends on People
The wind of the Loess Plateau blows through Jing Yongxue's ten-thousand-mu orchard; the blossoms of Sichuan's eastern plum trees perfume Chen Xiaolong's road to prosperity; the rain of the Wumeng Mountains moistens Tang Qiyun's children's home; the sunshine of Longshang bathes Cui Suying's fragrant study rooms...
Four stories, four lives, yet all point to the same answer — rural revitalization depends on people.
As Qiming Venture Partners and the China Foundation for Rural Development firmly believe: every rural entrepreneur possesses the ability and opportunity to lead fellow villagers toward common prosperity.
What they need has never been the courage to struggle, but an opportunity to be seen, supported, and empowered.
Four years ago, the seed of the "Rural Revitalization Entrepreneur Support Program" was sown. Today, it has grown into a vibrant forest across the countryside.
As of the end of November 2025, the program has invested 40 million yuan, supported 951 rural entrepreneurs, and benefited 178 counties (cities, districts) across 15 provinces (autonomous regions).
These rural entrepreneurs seek nothing earth-shattering — only to lead their fellow villagers toward days that get better year after year.
