Green Carbon Synthetic Energy

Green Carbon Synthetic Energy (绿碳合成能源) is a Shaoxing-based company developing sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) through a proprietary "third-generation" Fischer-Tropsch synthesis process, founded in July 2023 by CEO Xiao Lifeng, who previously worked at a top international nanocatalysis lab . The company's core technology package is fully domestically developed and enables production of SAF, biodiesel, and bio-naphtha from biomass sources including agricultural waste, livestock manure, and municipal solid waste .

The company has raised two rounds from Linear Capital: an angel round of tens of millions of RMB in mid-2024 with Linear as sole investor, followed by a Pre-A round of nearly 100 million RMB in 2025 led by Rongtuo Capital with DeLian Capital and Linear Capital following at full pro-rata . Linear Capital partner Zeng Yingzhe noted that the team combines capabilities in catalyst characterization, screening, optimization, and reactor design, with a new cobalt-based catalytic process that could significantly reduce costs for biomass-gasification Fischer-Tropsch SAF routes .

As of mid-2025, Green Carbon Synthetic Energy is building its first self-operated factory in Inner Mongolia, expected to begin operations by year-end with annual SAF capacity in the thousands of tons; the company has also begun offering thousand-ton-scale core process package licensing to address distributed biomass utilization in China .
