Haawking

Haawking (中科昊芯) is a Chinese chip design company and a national-level "little giant" enterprise spun out from the Chinese Academy of Sciences in January 2019, founded by Li Renwei, a PhD in computer application technology from the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences . The company is the world's first to design, develop, and mass-produce digital signal processors (DSPs) using the open-source RISC-V instruction set architecture, with fully self-developed cores and algorithms .

Its Haawking-HX2000 series spans automotive-grade, high-performance, mainstream, and cost-optimized DSPs for industrial automation, photovoltaic energy storage, digital power, new energy vehicles, and consumer electronics, with over ten chips taped out and annual shipments nearing ten million units as of mid-2025 . The company has raised over several hundred million RMB cumulatively, with a Pre-B+ round in June 2025 led by Huajin Capital and followed by Megmeet, alongside prior backers including Sequoia China, Unity Ventures, BYD, and others .
