Hero Games is a Chinese game company co-founded by Daniel and Ying Shuling, now run by Daniel as a roughly 2,000-person studio focused on building its own titles . The firm was an early backer of Game Science, providing RMB 60 million in angel funding in 2017 for a 20% stake and later pouring in at least another RMB 100 million to become the sole co-publisher of *Black Myth: Wukong* . Per a 2022 annual report cited by 暗涌Waves, Hero Games later sold that Game Science stake for RMB 480 million . Daniel has described the *Black Myth* investment as unrepeatable, rooted in a rare team's accumulated creative depth, and says he is now pausing external game bets to concentrate on Hero's internal projects while waiting for AIGC to mature as an industry variable over the next two to three years .
