Hygea Medical

Hygea Medical (海杰亚医疗) is a Beijing-based medical device company founded in 2010 that specializes in minimally invasive tumor interventional therapy and cryomedicine . It has built a research, production and sales platform around its globally first-of-its-kind composite cryoablation system, the "Kangbo Knife" (康博刀), which integrates deep-low-temperature freezing with high-intensity thermal ablation for treating solid tumors including lung, liver, breast, kidney, pancreatic and prostate cancers . The system received approval through China's innovative medical device fast-track pathway in 2017, was included in the national medical insurance catalog in 2021, and by 2024 had been deployed commercially in over ten countries and regions . The company has been recognized as a national high-tech enterprise and a national-level "little giant" specialized firm, and operates the Beijing Key Laboratory of Cryobiomedical Engineering along with a postdoctoral research workstation . Its investors include Gaorong Ventures, which led its Series C+ round in 2021 and followed on in its Series D round in 2023 .
