The Institute of Engineering Thermophysics, Chinese Academy of Sciences is China's earliest research institution dedicated to large-scale compressed air energy storage technology development . It originated the advanced compressed air energy storage technical principle in 2004 and has since built the world's first 1.5MW, 10MW, and 100MW advanced compressed air energy storage demonstration systems, with performance metrics exceeding international equivalents .
