Jixun Foo

Jixun Foo is a veteran venture capitalist who has spent two decades in the industry, currently serving as managing partner of Jiyuan Capital (纪源资本), the Asia arm that emerged from GGV Capital's 2023 split . The separation, announced in September 2023 and completed by early 2024, saw GGV divide into two fully independent entities: Jiyuan Capital, headquartered in Singapore and led by Foo and Jenny Lee to cover China, Southeast Asia and South Asia, and Notable Capital for the US and other markets . Foo reflected to 暗涌Waves in early 2024 that capital had become "expensive," bringing greater pressure than anticipated and shifting market preference toward lower-risk investments, with exit strategy becoming a central preoccupation . His counsel then was to lower expectations and adapt dynamically, describing equity investment as "a marathon" . The GGV name, used for 18 years, was retired in this restructuring .
