Kimi Agent

Kimi Agent is the agentic product line built by Moonshot AI (月之暗面) on top of its open-source Kimi models — not a separate company, but the company's flagship AI assistant's agent mode. It took shape through 2025-2026: after the 1-trillion-parameter open-source K2 model launched in July 2025 as "a foundation for general Agent capability," K2 Thinking (November 2025) added long-horizon execution of up to 300 steps, and January 2026's K2.5 introduced "Agent swarms" that can spin up to 100 parallel sub-agents handling 1,500-step tasks, reportedly beating Gemini 3.0 Flash/Pro on agent benchmarks .

On the product side, Kimi Agent has been pushing into Office work — understanding spreadsheet cell relationships, PPT structure, PDF layout, and generating polished files directly on the web — and with K2.6 (April 2026) it added a Skills system: users can create and invoke reusable skills via a "/" command, turn Office documents into skills, or use built-in expert packs like an investment-research toolkit that outputs one-pagers on A-share/HK/US-listed companies . It's accessible via kimi.com, the Kimi app, Kimi Code, and the API.
