Konghui Guo

Konghui Guo is a foundational figure in Chinese automotive dynamics research and the founder of KH Automotive Technologies (孔辉科技). Born in the 1930s, he began studying tire mechanics and vehicle handling stability in the 1960s, later serving as vice president of Jilin University of Technology and professor at Jilin University, where he mentored over 300 graduate students and postdocs . In 2007, at age 73, he founded Changchun Konghui with more than 30 students—his son Guo Chuan serving as general manager—driven by a fixation on technology and the constraints of academic research funding . The company started as an automotive engineering design firm providing chassis technology services to major Chinese automakers including FAW Hongqi, Dongfeng, Brilliance, and SAIC-GM-Wuling . Guo later co-founded Zhejiang Konghui in 2018 with Guo Chuan, relocating to the Yangtze River Delta to focus on developing and manufacturing passenger vehicle electronic control suspension systems . As of 2023, he was 88 years old and reportedly pleased with the company's achievements, which included becoming a market leader in air suspension systems for electric vehicles .
