Tudou

Tudou was a Chinese online video platform and one of the early investments of Gaorong Ventures' founding partners. According to Gaorong's own account, partner Gao Xiang insisted on investing in Tudou when it had just launched, while co-founder Zhang Zhen initially favored a rival; after visiting both, Zhang came to admire Tudou founder Wang Wei's capabilities—described as showing up to their meeting in slippers—and concluded Tudou had stronger prospects, leading him to back Gao's position . The company later became one of the portfolio successes cited by Gaorong, alongside firms like Xiaomi and Razer . Wang Wei, Tudou's founder, was also listed among the successful entrepreneurs who became limited partners in Gaorong's funds .
