Wei Cao

Wei Cao is a partner at BlueRun Ventures (蓝驰创投), where he has worked since 2010 . He focuses on robotics and embodied intelligence, and has helped build the firm's portfolio of more than ten robotics startups over the past eight years, with total deployment in the sector reaching the billion-RMB level . In a 2024 speech at the World Robot Conference, he argued that China is entering a "new golden age" for robotics, driven by mature supply chains, rapid underlying tech progress, and especially multimodal large models that are pushing task-handling capabilities past previous limits . He sees B-side simple-scenario deployments landing first, while consumer applications will take longer due to stricter safety, cost, and generalization requirements . He was also named to a "Top 30 Young GP Leaders" list .
