Youwei Biology (优微生物, YOUWE BIOTECH.Co.,Ltd.) is a Zhuhai-based biotech company founded in 2017 by a group of post-80s overseas-returned PhDs from top international microneedle transdermal research labs . The company specializes in soluble microneedle transdermal drug delivery technology, developing what it calls an internationally pioneered low-temperature one-step rapid molding process, free-form microcrystal microstructure shaping, segmented precision quantitative drug loading, and fully automated production lines .

The company operates across two main tracks. In consumer applications, it has built a product division focused on soluble microcrystal skincare—covering anti-aging, spot-lightening, and acne treatment formulations—and has become the domestic leader in soluble microcrystal product registrations, with custom partnerships with multiple well-known skincare brands . In pharmaceutical and medical device innovation, it established a wholly-owned subsidiary in early 2022, Zhuhai Keruiwei Medical Technology, to provide soluble microneedle CRO+CDMO services for drug and medical device clients, with pipelines spanning traditional Chinese medicine extracts, peptides, proteins, and recombinant protein vaccines for applications in central nervous system diseases, pain management, endocrine disorders, and vaccination .

Youwei Biology raised a Series A in the tens of millions of RMB led by Source Code Capital in August 2021 , followed by a nearly 100 million RMB Series B in mid-2022 led exclusively by Cenova Capital (千骥资本), with Source Code Capital having led the prior round . The company holds over 30 authorized patents and has received national-level recognitions including a gold medal at the first National Postdoctoral Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition .
