In 2022, Forbes China conducted its 16th annual independent survey of venture capital investors active in mainland China, evaluating candidates recommended by more than 200 VC firms to select 100 investors with strong track records over the past five years. This year, the "Forbes China Midas List" saw an 11% turnover rate, with seven investors making their first appearance and four returning to the ranking.

The average age of the 2022 "Forbes China Midas List" honorees was 49.38, marking the third consecutive year below 50. It was also the third straight year of declining median age, with ten investors under 40 making the list — a sign that younger investors are rising faster than ever. Among the new faces born after 1985 was Yungang Huang from Source Code Capital, who earned his first selection on the strength of his exit from RLX Technology and his investment in unicorn Sibionics.

Yi Cao, Yungang Huang, and Xingshi Wang of Source Code Capital were all named to the "Forbes China 2022 Midas List," ranking 6th, 61st, and 93rd respectively.
