GreenVoltis Closes New Funding Round to Accelerate European Energy Transition with AI Native Technology | Unity Ventures Portfolio

Consolidating its leading position in Europe's virtual power plant sector

GreenVoltis, a leading European AI virtual power plant (VPP) company, announced it has raised a new multi-million-dollar funding round led exclusively by Minyin International.

GreenVoltis is an AI-native VPP aggregator focused on the European market. It uses AI-native technology to participate in electricity spot trading and grid ancillary services, while also helping infrastructure investment funds with project development and asset investment in Europe. Unity Ventures was GreenVoltis's angel-round investor.

Recently, GreenVoltis, a leading European AI virtual power plant company, announced the successful completion of a new multi-million-dollar funding round led exclusively by Minyin International. The capital will be used to further advance the innovation and upgrading of the company's core technology platform, while solidifying its leading position in the European VPP sector and supporting Europe's transition toward a sustainable energy structure.

GreenVoltis is an AI-native VPP aggregator focused on the European market. Through AI-native technology, it participates in electricity spot trading and grid ancillary services, providing intelligent and efficient flexibility trading and operations solutions for power market participants including energy storage and other new energy asset owners, industrial and commercial customers, and electricity sales agents. At the same time, GreenVoltis also helps its deeply partnered infrastructure investment funds with project development and asset investment in Europe.

Previously, the company completed an angel funding round in July last year jointly participated in by Unity Ventures, CCV, and Yunqi Capital. Completing two consecutive funding rounds in a short period, with investors spanning top-tier financial institutions, not only reflects market confidence in Europe's energy transition but also fully demonstrates GreenVoltis's strong competitive advantages in core VPP technology and industry leadership.

At the recently concluded McKinsey & Company · GBB Green Business Building Summit 2025 (GBB25), GreenVoltis showcased its latest technology platform and product strategy, becoming one of the summit's highlights. The company officially launched two major products:

  • Aether Platform: Based on an AI-native architecture, it helps new energy power stations achieve comprehensive optimization of operational efficiency and returns through multi-market trading strategies.

  • Terra AI Modeling Tool: Provides intelligent financial calculation support for asset investment owners to optimize investment decisions.

With these innovations, GreenVoltis is committed to reshaping the European energy landscape, demonstrating its confidence in energy storage technology innovation and the substantial future return potential of renewable energy assets through comprehensive upgrades from underlying technical architecture to business models.

Currently, Europe's energy structure is accelerating its shift toward renewable energy. The intermittency and instability of these energy sources demand more flexible grid management approaches. Additionally, European countries have strong environmental consciousness, with policies pushing for green energy adoption; the closure of nuclear plants and reduced reliance on fossil fuels further increase demand for renewables. On top of this, spot market price volatility is growing, and electricity retailers are rapidly shifting from dependence on long-term power purchase agreements to spot trading.

According to GreenVoltis co-founder Ali Shi, frequency regulation revenues are currently quite substantial in some European regions, but the value created by energy storage in the future will come from real-time multi-market optimization scenarios spanning frequency regulation, capacity, balancing, and other ancillary service markets alongside spot trading markets.

From the very beginning of its European venture, the GreenVoltis team has built its solutions on an AI-native platform architecture with real-time multi-market optimization as the goal. "Compared to ancillary service operations focused on frequency regulation, multi-market optimization is truly the core of realizing 'energy plus AI,'" Shi explained. "So compared to frequency regulation-focused VPP aggregators, our team's industry knowledge and technical iteration capabilities can bring significant improvements to VPP operational efficiency and returns."

GreenVoltis's core team comprises top talent from Europe and China, all with extensive experience in energy trading and algorithm development, backed by resumes from internationally leading major tech companies. The team has deep familiarity with the access standards and trading rules of various European national power markets, and has leveraged years of practical experience in overseas energy circles to build solutions with a global perspective.
