Noetix Robotics Launches Embodied AI Sub-Brand Scalabot, Taking Key Step Toward Full-Stack "Body + Embodied Brain" Capabilities | Unity Ventures Portfolio
Launching HERON-World Model
As robot hardware capabilities mature, the question of who can make robots truly understand and adapt to the real world is becoming the new focal point.
Running, dancing, backflips — robots keep pushing the boundaries of dynamic movement. But to actually enter the real world, these tricks aren't enough. They need genuine "work" capabilities: understanding scenes, planning actions accordingly, and flexibly adapting to environments they've never seen before.
On September 8, Unity Ventures' early-stage portfolio company Noetix Robotics officially launched Scalabot, a general-purpose Embodied Artificial Intelligence technology brand.
Scalabot is dedicated to building the core capabilities for robots to understand the world, simulate the future, and act autonomously — moving intelligence from models into the physical world. The goal is to enable robots to complete tasks they've never been taught in environments they've never seen, making general Embodied Artificial Intelligence a scalable new form of productive force in the real world.
Simultaneously unveiled was HERON-World Model, the first world model under Scalabot's technical architecture system, HERON. This marks a critical step for Noetix Robotics in evolving from robot hardware alone to the full-stack capability of "hardware + embodied brain."
For Noetix Robotics, this represents another important advancement along its development path. Having continuously strengthened its foundational robot hardware capabilities, the company is now formally entering the longer-term endeavor of building an embodied brain.
01
Master the hardware first, then build the "brain"
The move into embodied brains wasn't a sudden decision for Noetix Robotics, but rather an extension of its deep industry engagement.
Over the past three years, Noetix Robotics focused on the most fundamental yet most challenging link in the robotics industry: the R&D and manufacturing of robot hardware itself. From structural design and motion control to supply chain integration and scaled manufacturing, the company maintained continuous investment.
This choice reflected Noetix Robotics' long-term assessment of how the robotics industry would develop: the industry must first have stable, reliable hardware before it can support a truly general-purpose "brain."
In October last year, Noetix Robotics released Bumi, the industry's first high-performance consumer-grade humanoid robot. Designed with lightweight materials and priced in the sub-10,000-yuan range for the first time, it pushed humanoid robots from laboratories toward broader real-world scenarios including homes, education, research, and commercial displays.
Through this process, Noetix Robotics accumulated not only hardware R&D and manufacturing capabilities, but also a deeper understanding of the challenges robots face in the real world. Compared to laboratory environments, the real world is full of openness and uncertainty, placing higher demands on robots' perception, comprehension, and decision-making abilities.
Thus, having solidified its hardware capabilities, Noetix Robotics took its next step — launching the general-purpose Embodied Artificial Intelligence technology brand Scalabot, focused on building an embodied brain for the real world.
02
Using Scalabot to build "brain" capabilities
An embodied brain is a long-term undertaking. While it and robot hardware ultimately serve the same goal, their development logic differs.
Noetix Robotics therefore chose to house this business under the sub-brand Scalabot.
Scalabot derives from "Scale" and "Robot." Noetix Robotics believes that Scaling Law holds equally true in the physical world, and that the capability ceiling of Embodied Artificial Intelligence will ultimately be determined by data scale. Scalabot focuses on the growth of the "brain," and how this capability expands alongside data, models, and robot numbers.
Unlike the traditional "hardware + algorithm" combination, Noetix Robotics and Scalabot will form deep synergy. At the robot hardware definition stage, they will already account for the intelligent system's needs regarding sensors, computing power, degrees of freedom, and data interfaces — enabling the robot hardware and embodied brain to co-evolve.
Notably, the model capabilities Scalabot builds are not tied to a single hardware platform. Through unified action representations and cross-platform architecture design, it can support robots of different configurations and degrees of freedom, allowing intelligence to transfer and generalize across a broader robotics ecosystem.
Going forward, Scalabot will create a continuously evolving data flywheel: perception and interaction data from robots in real-world scenarios continuously feeds back to drive model growth, and as model capabilities improve, they in turn enable robots to unlock more complex task scenarios — forming a sustained loop from data to model to application.
The HERON-World Model released this time is the first public achievement in this direction.
03
From "building robots" to "making robots increasingly smart"
HERON-World Model is only the beginning for Scalabot. In the future, Scalabot will successively release HERON series models, continuously expanding the boundaries of robots' ability to understand the world, predict the world, and interact with it — gradually building general Embodied Artificial Intelligence capabilities for the real world.
As models iterate and capabilities accumulate, the value of the "brain" will ultimately land in scenarios. Scalabot will take home service as an important scenario while extending into commercial service and other domains, letting the "brain" truly enter a broader world.
The robotics industry ultimately needs more than prettier hardware, and more than a bigger model. It needs a capability system that can continuously bridge the digital and physical worlds.
This is the true long-term value of Embodied Artificial Intelligence.
The establishment of Scalabot and the release of HERON-World Model send a signal from Noetix Robotics: the company doesn't just build robots — it aims to make general Embodied Artificial Intelligence a scalable new form of productive force in the real world.
Technical details of HERON-World Model are now publicly available on Scalabot's WeChat account and official website. Scalabot website: https://scalabot.noetixrobotics.com/
