Daniel

Daniel is Wu Dan (吴旦), a Chinese game investor and executive who was the first backer of *Black Myth: Wukong*. He joined ZhenFund in 2012 after cold-approaching partner Anna Fang at a dinner, rising to become its youngest-ever VP within 18 months by betting on mobile games like *Superhero* and *Vanity* . In 2015 he was recruited by Ying Shuling to co-found Hero Games, where as president he led a RMB 60 million investment in Game Science for 20% equity—later adding at least another RMB 100 million to become the sole co-producer of *Black Myth: Wukong* . He also built a 49% stake in Kuro Games, the developer behind *Wuthering Waves* . His investment philosophy, shaped by his ZhenFund mentors, centers on backing people over products; as he put it, "the methodology is simple... it's about the person, the person being right is enough" . MiHoYo founder Liu Wei once called him "the strongest investor in China's game industry over the past five years, bar none" .
