Hua Su

Hua Su is the co-founder, chairman and CEO of Kuaishou, the Chinese short-video platform that listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange in February 2021 . He joined the company in 2012 and brought machine-learning recommendation algorithms into the product, partnering with Cheng Yixiao—described by 5Y Capital's Zhang Fei as "a genius product manager and a tech geek" who together "created a mobile short-video era" . Before Kuaishou's public listing, Su had been involved with the company since its early struggling days around 2014, when 5Y Capital partner Liu Kai recalled taking him to meet Tencent executives while Su wore slippers, a worn t-shirt and a Swiss army knife laptop bag . At Kuaishou's IPO, the company's market value exceeded HK$1.2 trillion on its first day and hit HK$1.73 trillion within a week, making it briefly China's fifth-largest internet company by value .
