Jinhui Yuan is a serial entrepreneur in Chinese AI infrastructure, best known as the founder and CEO of SiliconFlow . Before founding SiliconFlow, he spent time at Microsoft Research Asia, where in his second year he built LightLDA — described by 暗涌Waves as the world's fastest topic-model training algorithm and system at the time . He started his first venture in 2016 (some accounts say 2017) with OneFlow, an open-source deep learning framework that positioned itself as a challenger to Meta's PyTorch . OneFlow was later acquired by Wang Huiwen's 光年之外 (Light Years Away), where Yuan became a co-founder alongside Yue Cao, who went on to found Sand.ai . After 光年之外, Yuan launched SiliconFlow with an angel round reported at 50 million yuan from Sinovation Ventures, Wang Huiwen and others , at a multi-hundred-million-yuan valuation . The company caught an early traffic wave from DeepSeek's rise and, per a June 2025 暗涌Waves report, raised hundreds of millions in new funding led by Alibaba .
