Kevin Lee

Kevin Lee (李凯文) is the co-founder of ChatCut, an AI video-editing startup he launched after a career in documentary filmmaking . Born in 1992, he moved to the US after middle school and graduated from Rhode Island School of Design in 2015 . He worked at Vice and Discovery producing documentaries, during which he also began shooting commercial ads; the product idea for ChatCut grew directly out of his long experience in documentary production . In 2024 he self-funded a film project before turning to entrepreneurship .

His path into venture capital began at the Golden Horse Film Festival, where he met Eric, a partner at Antler, who provided initial funding to test whether Lee could turn an idea into a working product . ZhenFund, with partner Liu Yuan leading the deal, subsequently invested . As Crossing described it, Antler's bet was on "perseverance" and the ability to actually ship something .
