Vastai Technologies (瀚博半导体) is a Chinese high-performance intelligent vision chip design company founded by CEO Jun Qian (钱军), a veteran with over two decades in the semiconductor industry . The company positions itself as a provider of AI and video-processing chips for cloud and edge computing, targeting data centers, smart healthcare, online education, cloud gaming, and autonomous driving .

In its early funding trajectory, Vastai raised $50 million in Series A in November 2020 led by Kuaishou, Redpoint China, and 5Y Capital, followed by a 500 million RMB Series A+ in April 2021 co-led by China Internet Investment Fund and Matrix Partners China, with 5Y Capital among the follow-on investors . By December 2021, it had closed two consecutive Series B rounds totaling 1.6 billion RMB, co-led by Alibaba Group, PICC Capital, Matrix Partners China, and 5Y Capital, achieving unicorn status . Both 5Y Capital and ZhenFund appear as repeat backers across multiple rounds .

More recently, in February 2025, Vastai partnered with China Unicom to launch a cloud phone product built on its domestic high-end GPU . The company has also been recognized in industry rankings including the "Silicon 100" list and 2024's "Most Investment-Worthy Enterprises TOP100" .
