ViewTravel (视旅科技) is an AI-native travel platform founded in November 2021 by former Alibaba vice president and Fliggy founder Shaohua Li, alongside CTO Huipeng Rui, a former Alibaba AI senior technical expert who built Fliggy's data and AI systems . The company positions itself as "AI-driven next-generation travel platform," built around VtripGPT, which it launched in May 2023 as China's first large language model for the tourism sector and which became the first travel industry model approved by national cyberspace regulators in March 2024 .

The platform targets Gen-Z travelers with end-to-end personalized destination experiences—generating itineraries and enabling one-click booking for hotels, tickets, and other travel products . As of late 2024, it covered more than ten destinations including Hong Kong, Singapore, Sichuan, and Yunnan, with projected annual users exceeding 3 million . The company has also deployed DeepSeek-R1 through private deployment, using distillation to transfer its reasoning capabilities to VtripGPT; Li noted that this reduced destination onboarding from roughly two months with expert teams to about two days .

ViewTravel raised over RMB 100 million in its angel round from Gaorong Ventures, K2VC (险峰资本), and others, followed by a Series A of over RMB 100 million in 2024 led by investors including Shenzhen Media Group's fund, Guangzhou City Investment Group's Greater Bay Area fund, Gaorong Ventures, Youshan Investment, and Zhonghu Yakang . The company established its overseas structure and team by end of 2023 .
