WeDoctor (微医) is a Chinese digital healthcare platform that 5Y Capital has held in its portfolio since the early stage, alongside companies like Kuaishou and SenseTime . HongShan (formerly Sequoia China) also invested in WeDoctor at a very early stage, according to a 2023 retrospective . The company positions itself as the largest digital medical service platform in China, with its roots in Shanghai—where it claims connections to 156 hospitals and over 90% of the city's tertiary hospitals, with more than 20,000 local experts on its platform as of 2022 .

In recent years WeDoctor has pursued AI partnerships to deepen its healthcare technology stack. In March 2024 it signed a strategic agreement with Tencent to co-develop medical large language models and upgrade a "six-disease co-management platform," leveraging cloud computing, LLMs, and digital humans . By June 2025 it had expanded this approach through a partnership with Alibaba Cloud to build a medical AI infrastructure based on Tongyi Qianwen, jointly developing intelligent agents for full medical scenarios and migrating its data centers to a cloud-native architecture . During the COVID-19 period, WeDoctor also collaborated with AstraZeneca to launch booking services in Hong Kong for the Evusheld long-acting antibody combination .
