Unity Ventures Wins ChinaVenture "Best Early-Stage Investment Firm of the Year" and "Best Investment Firm in AI and Big Data" Awards | Unity Honors

Getting Hands-On for the Next Industrial Revolution

On April 18, at the 19th China Investment Annual Conference hosted by ChinaVenture and ChinaVenture, the 2024 "ChinaVenture Rankings" were officially released. Unity Ventures was named to the annual lists of "Top 20 Best Early-Stage VC Firms in China" and "Top 30 Best Investment Firms in China's AI and Big Data Industry."

ChinaVenture has published the "ChinaVenture Rankings" — China's venture capital and private equity investment series — for 19 consecutive years. Drawing on CVSource data and research covering over a thousand active investment institutions in the private equity space, it selects outstanding firms and is regarded as a bellwether for China's equity investment industry.

The 2024 results are now history; 2025 brings new questions. As this year's summit theme "Divergence" suggests, the old order is being dismantled and the industry is splintering in different directions. Even as a new wave of globalization creates fog, China's technological breakthroughs will point the way forward.

Xiao Wang, founder of Unity Ventures, said at the investment conference that amid US-China competition, breakthroughs in large language models represented by DeepSeek mark a watershed moment in China's technology transition, accelerating the formation of a consensus around Chinese tech. The gap between Chinese and American technology is narrowing. Supported by engineer dividends, supply chain advantages, and capital, China will produce more outstanding technology companies, and China's tech transition is full of promise.

In the past, the information technology revolution used the internet as its vehicle; artificial intelligence uses tokens as its vehicle — it's more generalized and will penetrate advanced manufacturing, biotechnology, energy, and other fields, driving broader industrial transformation. We have the world's richest industrial chain, AI has more vehicles to ride on, and China sits at an excellent position in this transformation.

In the wave of technological transition, there may be some froth, but the early development of technology companies requires substantial capital investment, and moderate froth can accelerate technological maturation. Take robotics as an example: the convergence of Embodied Artificial Intelligence models and hardware is approaching an inflection point. While commercialization faces short-term challenges, looking five to ten years ahead, we can foresee robots of different forms gradually finding their place in daily life, services, and production.

As an early-stage investment firm, Unity Ventures had already positioned itself in AI applications, robotics, and other fields before consensus formed, backing companies including LynkSoul, CreativeFitting, TTC, and Independent Variable Robotics. Betting earlier and more presciently is how you anchor your coordinates at the crest of a new wave.
