Qiming Venture Partners' Healthcare Partnering Day Connects Global Pharma with Chinese Biotech for Fifth Consecutive Year
The event aims to build a platform for exchange between Qiming Venture Partners portfolio companies and top global pharmaceutical firms, jointly identifying potential collaboration opportunities to accelerate innovation.

Recently, Qiming Venture Partners, a leading venture capital firm in China, successfully hosted the 2026 Qiming Healthcare Partnering Day in Shanghai. The event was designed to build a communication platform between Qiming's portfolio companies and top global pharmaceutical firms, jointly exploring potential collaboration opportunities to accelerate innovation and advance healthcare development in China and worldwide, ultimately addressing unmet medical needs for patients.
This marks the fifth consecutive year that Qiming Venture Partners has held this event, which to date has facilitated hundreds of one-on-one meetings for over a hundred (instances of) global leading pharmaceutical companies and portfolio companies, laying a solid foundation for expanding cooperation areas and elevating partnership levels.
This year's Qiming Healthcare Partnering Day demonstrated remarkable dynamism and mutual appeal. Nearly 60 companies conducted 176 one-on-one sessions. On one hand, top global pharmaceutical firms showed strong willingness to collaborate — the most active participant engaged with 18 Qiming portfolio companies. On the other hand, Qiming's biotech investments also gained broad market recognition, with the most sought-after biotech company successfully meeting with 13 leading pharmaceutical firms. Meanwhile, the 2026 Qiming Healthcare Partnering Day introduced its first-ever "meeting-within-a-meeting" — Qiming ecosystem partner Centerview Partners hosted an M&A workshop for CEOs of Qiming's healthcare portfolio companies, covering valuation, deal structuring, and core elements for closing transactions.

Since its launch in 2022, the Qiming Healthcare Partnering Day has successfully established itself as a bridge connecting top global pharmaceutical companies with China's biotech force, becoming a widely recognized platform for efficient and in-depth exchange in the healthcare innovation sector. The event adopts an offline, closed-door format centered on customized one-on-one deep-dive meetings. Participating executives, R&D, and market experts discuss core technologies, product pipelines, business models, and industry trends to explore potential strategic partnerships. The event not only provides portfolio companies with unique opportunities for direct dialogue with global pharmaceutical firms, effectively broadening cooperation channels, but also helps them build sustainable competitive advantages through precise resource matching and technology insights. The Qiming Healthcare Partnering Day represents a key practice of Qiming Venture Partners' post-investment service capabilities. As the globalization of innovative drugs accelerates and Chinese biotech companies increasingly integrate into the global innovation ecosystem, Qiming Venture Partners continues to upgrade its post-investment service system, actively supporting portfolio companies in expanding international operations. As of October 2026, Qiming portfolio companies have signed 46 BD transactions with multinational pharmaceutical companies and overseas biotech firms, with disclosed transaction value totaling $37.6 billion. These partnerships not only reflect the international vision and innovation capabilities of Qiming and its portfolio companies but also lay a solid foundation for China's healthcare industry to go global.
Kan Chen, Partner at Qiming Venture Partners and Co-Head of Healthcare Innovation, stated: "Chinese innovative drugs are gaining significant attention from global pharmaceutical companies, transitioning from following to running alongside, with leadership emerging in certain areas. To realize global value from innovation, companies need to plan BD pathways, overseas clinical development, and global intellectual property protection in advance, while maintaining continuous communication with multinational pharmaceutical firms to understand their evolving business needs. This is precisely the original intention behind Qiming's continued hosting of the Healthcare Partnering Day. Looking ahead, Qiming Venture Partners will continue to leverage its professional expertise in healthcare and global resource advantages to empower portfolio companies in refining their BD systems, seizing overseas collaboration opportunities, and driving Chinese pharmaceutical innovation to continuously enhance its global competitiveness."
