Cewu Lu

Cewu Lu is a professor at Shanghai Jiao Tong University and a leading researcher in embodied intelligence, robot learning, and computer vision . He is a Changjiang Scholar Distinguished Professor and the only recipient of the 2023 Xplorer Prize in the embodied intelligence field . He serves as chief AI scientist at Flexiv, a general-purpose intelligent robotics company, and in 2023 helped strategically incubate Qiongche Intelligence, a Flexiv ecosystem startup focused on large-model embodied intelligence, where he is co-founder . In June 2024, he demonstrated an embodied intelligence system controlling a robotic arm to shave his face, a task requiring real-time force feedback and instantaneous decision-making . He has also spoken on the bottlenecks and breakthrough paths for embodied intelligence as a 2024 investment theme .
