Entropy Technology (熵简科技, also known as Value Simplex) is an AI-powered infrastructure provider for financial asset management, founded and led by CEO Binjie Fei . The company began as a full-domain data middle-platform provider, helping large domestic asset managers build investment research data centers . After large language models emerged, it pivoted to launch AlphaEngine, a professional AI search engine for financial professionals that now covers over 8,600 asset management institutions and 80,000 institutional investors .

The company raised a Series B round in the tens of millions of USD led by Gaorong Ventures in September 2019, with Harvest Global Investments as a follow-on investor, following an earlier Series A from Xiaomi, Harvest, and Qingquanshi Capital in 2018 . Gaorong Ventures has continued to feature the firm in its portfolio coverage through 2025 . In Fei's view, large models allowed the company to "return to its original mission" of using digital methods to reduce entropy in investment research processes .
