Guohao Dai

Guohao Dai is an associate professor at Shanghai Jiao Tong University and the co-founder and chief scientist of Infinigence AI (无问芯穹), which he helped establish in 2023 to industrialize sparse-computing acceleration technology. His research centers on software-hardware co-design for sparse computing — structured sparsity driven by prior knowledge, ML-driven dynamic compilation, and fine-grained parallel architectures — which, per Qiming Venture Partners, delivers roughly an order-of-magnitude gain in effective compute on lower-spec chips. That work has produced a string of shipping products on both the device side (the Megrez-3B-Omni omni-modal edge model, the SpecEE dynamic sparsity engine, the FlightLLM and FlightVGM inference LPU IPs) and the cloud side (FlashDecoding++, Semi-PD, FlashOverlap). At the 2025 World Artificial Intelligence Conference, he framed the path to AGI-scale compute as breaking three "walls" — power, memory, and communication — through heterogeneous computing and 3D-stacked packaging. He was named to MIT Technology Review's 2024 Innovators Under 35 China list at age 32.
