Tencent AI Lab is Tencent's corporate AI research lab — according to elsewhere's own reporting, it was formed in the mid-2010s when AlphaGo's victory over Lee Sedol pushed AI onto the big tech agenda and Tencent reorganized an existing team into the lab .
