Yueban Power

Yueban Power (越伴动力 / Yueban Dynamics) is a Chinese robotics startup building what it calls "truly alive" companion robots — machines designed for emotional bonding rather than utility. Founded by Shibo, a self-taught roboticist who built over 30 robots from scratch starting in college and has been described as a "younger version of Zhiyuan Jun" (the Huawei-backed celebrity maker known as 稚晖君), the company is taking a deliberately anti-tool approach: its 12 kg, 21-joint bipedal robot emphasizes biomimetic form, dynamic motion, proactive empathetic interaction, long-term memory, and evolving personality traits .

The robot is meant to generate emotions, interact naturally, and grow continuously — "a companion first, not a tool" — with a healing aesthetic, natural movement, and personalized voice to build deep emotional attachment . Yueban's team reportedly ran through full-stack development on bipedal hardware, motion control, and interaction systems in under six months . The company has been featured by ZhenFund, which highlighted its effort to escape the parameter arms race and tool-centric competition dominating embodied intelligence .
