Z Fund is the ecosystem fund associated with Zhipu AI — described in FreesFund's portfolio newsletter as "智谱生态基金" (the Zhipu ecosystem fund) when it co-led, alongside Frees, the tens-of-millions-RMB angel round of humanoid robot maker Dongyi Technology, with the round later extended past 100M RMB cumulatively . Per Qiming Venture Partners' weekly updates, the fund was jointly launched by Zhipu AI and ecosystem partners, and committed 300M RMB to support AI open-source communities worldwide ; by mid-2025 it was also working with Zhipu's MaaS platform to run an "Agent Pioneer" support program for agent builders .
