MaHui | MaHui Member ONES Acquires SegmentFault to Build High-Quality Developer Community

ONES, an enterprise-grade R&D management platform, announced that it has completed the acquisition of SegmentFault (hereinafter referred to as "SegmentFault"), a well-known Chinese technical Q&A community.
This marks ONES's third acquisition, following its 2020 merger with Tower, a collaboration tool, and its 2021 merger with WizNote, a document tool.
Founded in 2012, SegmentFault is a leading Chinese technical Q&A community with nearly 7 million registered developer users. It is also China's largest hackathon organizer.

As a hub where developers learn and share technical knowledge, SegmentFault is a warm and familiar home for them. In 2018, Microsoft acquired the code hosting platform GitHub for $7.5 billion. Backed by Microsoft's cloud infrastructure and service capabilities, GitHub's developer user base grew from 28 million to 73 million within three years — an increase of over 160%. Moreover, 84% of Fortune 100 companies now use GitHub. It is foreseeable that ONES will contribute more technical and management expertise to SegmentFault, further elevating the quality and level of services it provides to developers.

In 2021, Prosus, Tencent's largest shareholder, acquired Stack Overflow, the developer Q&A community, for $1.8 billion. The acquisition announcement stated that "Stack Overflow will remain independently operated; aside from the change in investor, the company's specific operations will remain unchanged." Similarly, after joining ONES, SegmentFault will continue to preserve its independent operational character, its developer-first ethos, and its platform openness.
