On September 23–24, 36Kr evaluated investment firms and investors across four dimensions — fundraising, investing, portfolio management, and exits — as the foundation for its rankings, supplemented by a 10-day "Pick Your Favorite Investor / Investment Firm" poll open to entrepreneurs. The final results named the "Top 100 Most Entrepreneur-Friendly Investors in China 2021," "Top 50 Most Entrepreneur-Friendly Early-Stage Investment Firms in China 2021," "Top 100 Most Entrepreneur-Friendly Venture Capital Firms in China 2021," and "Top 50 Most Entrepreneur-Friendly Private Equity Firms in China 2021."

36Kr also released 2021 rankings for investment firms and investors across eight sectors of China's innovation economy: healthcare, consumer, enterprise services, frontier technology, chips / semiconductors, cross-border expansion, new-style dining, and logistics / supply chain.
