Peking Union Medical College Hospital Team Develops CAMPS II Technology Berry Genomics Collaboration Published in International Journal
Recently, a team led by Professor Juntao Liu at Peking Union Medical College Hospital and Berry Genomics (000710.SZ), a Qiming Venture Partners portfolio company, published significant research in the authoritative endocrinology and metabolism journal Journal of Inherited Metabolic Disease. Addressing the genetic diagnosis challenges of mucopolysaccharidosis type II (MPS II), the team developed CAMPS II technology based on third-generation HiFi long-read sequencing for the first time, enabling single-test precise detection of all variant types in the IDS gene that causes MPS II.

The CAMPS II technology developed in this study significantly improves diagnostic efficiency and accuracy while reducing diagnostic cost and time. With broader clinical application, this technology is expected to bring new breakthroughs in early precise diagnosis, treatment, and genetic counseling for MPS II, creating PGT-M opportunities to block genetic transmission for more patient families, and ultimately advancing effective genetic prevention and control of MPS II.

Guangdong Provincial People's Hospital Professor Xin Li's Team Collaborates with BiTree Biotech Publishes Paper in Renowned International Academic Journal
Recently, Professor Xin Li's team from the Emergency Department of Guangdong Provincial People's Hospital, a Guangdong medical aid expert in Tibet, once again led a collaboration with researcher Zhipeng Liu's team from Shanghai BiTree Metabolomics Technology Research Center (under BiTree Biotech, a Qiming Venture Partners portfolio company), Linzhi People's Hospital, and multiple other institutions to publish a paper in the renowned international academic journal Virulence (a top-tier CAS Q1 journal, impact factor/JCR quartile: 5.4/Q1).

The study shows that moderate-altitude exposure affects the gut bacteriome and phageome more than the gut mycobiome and archaeome in healthy individuals. Correlation analysis revealed that the intra- and inter-kingdom correlation networks of the gut multi-kingdom microbiome in healthy individuals at baseline were denser than after moderate-altitude exposure. Additionally, multiple statistical analyses indicate that changes in the gut multi-kingdom microbiome under moderate-altitude exposure in healthy individuals are significantly and strongly correlated with metabolic changes in blood glucose and short-chain fatty acids. These findings suggest that modulating the gut multi-kingdom microbiome could serve as a potential alternative therapeutic approach for improving abnormal blood glucose and related metabolic diseases.
