Insilico Medicine Announces Completion of NLRP3 Inhibitor
IND-Enabling Studies for ISM8969
Recently, Qiming Venture Partners portfolio company Insilico Medicine announced that its oral NLRP3 inhibitor ISM8969, targeting inflammatory and neurodegenerative diseases, has completed IND-enabling studies with positive results supporting further clinical validation. Based on existing data, Insilico Medicine plans to submit an IND application in the fourth quarter of this year, aiming to advance the candidate compound into clinical trials as a potentially transformative therapy for Parkinson's disease (PD).

In the IND-enabling studies, researchers conducted three behavioral tests — open field test, rotarod test, and grip strength test — to evaluate ISM8969's improvement of motor function in a Parkinson's disease mouse model. Data showed that mice treated with ISM8969 demonstrated a highly dose-dependent trend in motor improvement. At a 20 mpk dose, significant improvement was observed in disease-induced model mice, with corresponding metrics approaching those of healthy control groups.

VINNO Contributes to Research on Ultrasound-Excited Microbubble Cavitation Combined with Nitric Oxide Signaling Pathway Published in International Journal
Recently, research findings on ultrasound-excited microbubble cavitation combined with the nitric oxide signaling pathway were formally published in Academic Radiology, a core international academic journal sponsored by the Association of University Radiologists and published by Elsevier. In this breakthrough study, the VFlash low-intensity ultrasound therapy technology and URM super-resolution microscopy imaging technology, both equipped on the ULTIMUS 9E series ultrasound devices from Qiming Venture Partners portfolio company VINNO, formed a powerful synergy greater than the sum of its parts, providing core technical support for precise experimental implementation.

This study not only confirmed the feasibility of ultrasound combined with the nitric oxide pathway to improve tumor perfusion, but also established the "golden combination" of sodium nitrite (SN) plus ultrasound-excited microbubble cavitation (USMC) through rigorous data. For patients, this means that in the future, safer, non-invasive ultrasound technology combined with specific drugs may be used to "open up" tumor blood vessels, thereby enhancing treatment efficacy and reducing chemotherapy side effects. As technology continues to evolve, ultrasound-mediated tumor microcirculation regulation could become an important boost for improving the efficacy of radiotherapy, chemotherapy, and immunotherapy, opening new paths for solid tumor treatment.

Bayprotec SISPROT Preprocessing Kit Enables Plasma Exosome Proteomics Detection
Recently, a research article was published in Aging Cell by the team of Professor Zheng Lei from the Department of Laboratory Medicine at Nanfang Hospital, Southern Medical University, and Professor Kenneth W. Witwer from the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. Using the SISPROT sample preprocessing kit from Qiming Venture Partners portfolio company Bayprotec, the researchers performed efficient sample preprocessing and high-depth proteomics detection on plasma exosomes and corresponding protein fractions from 120 healthy volunteers. For the first time, the study systematically revealed the differential effects of age and sex on plasma extracellular vesicles (EVs) and protein components (PROT) in healthy individuals, emphasizing the importance of demographic factors in EVs research.

By innovatively adopting SISPROT (integrated spin-tip) proteomics preprocessing technology combined with size exclusion chromatography (SEC) separation strategy, this study confirmed the advantages of the SEC-SISPROT combined technique in resolving complex plasma components: significantly improving the identification efficiency of low-abundance proteins, overcoming the interference of co-isolated contaminants from EVs that plagues traditional methods, and ensuring data reliability.

SceneRay Officially Launches Gemini System, Leading Deep Brain Stimulation Technology into the 2.0 Era
During the 22nd Academic Conference of the Chinese Neurosurgical Society, Qiming Venture Partners portfolio company SceneRay held the "DBS 2.0 Era: Multi-Neural Circuit Combined Modulation and SceneRay Gemini System New Product Launch." At the event, SceneRay officially launched the Gemini system (SR1384Y extension lead), announcing that deep brain stimulation (DBS) technology has entered the 2.0 era and opening new exploration into multi-neural circuit combined modulation.
In his presentation "DBS 2.0 Era: Multi-Neural Circuit Combined Modulation," SceneRay Chairman Ning Yihua noted that neuroregulation technology brought Parkinson's treatment into a new phase 30 years ago, but subsequent technical improvements mostly focused on single targets and single neural circuits. However, neurological diseases often involve multi-neural circuit damage, and single-target modulation has significant limitations, such as inability to address freezing of gait, long-term tolerance, and declining efficacy. With the launch of the Gemini system, new treatment approaches are now available for multiple conditions. Combined with visualized programming, this will break through the efficacy ceiling, and SceneRay looks forward to collaborating with experts to lead DBS technology development.

02/ UBTECH Helps "Tiangong" Robot Become First-Ever Humanoid Robot "Flying Man" in 100-Meter Sprint
At the 2025 World Humanoid Robot Games, "Tiangong," developed by the Beijing Humanoid Robot Innovation Center with UBTECH (09880.HK) — a Qiming Venture Partners portfolio company — as a founding member, claimed the first-ever "flying man" title for humanoid robots in the 100-meter dash.
Winning the 100-meter race with a time of 21.5 seconds, it was the only competitor to complete the run fully autonomously without remote human control, representing a revolutionary leap in robot "brain" technology.
In earlier competitions, "Tiangong" also secured second place in the 1,500-meter race, swept second, third, and fourth places in the 400-meter race, and took second place in the 4×100-meter relay. Across the 100-meter, 400-meter, and 1,500-meter events, "Tiangong" relied entirely on visual perception and environmental sensing, using multi-sensor fusion SLAM algorithms combined with an OCC surround-perception module to achieve real-time occupancy and semantic perception of its environment. It autonomously recognized lane dividers and maintained stable positioning within designated lanes despite interference from multiple robots running in the same direction and sharp-curvature turns. This precise environmental recognition, dynamic control, and autonomous execution capability will lay the groundwork for future robots to achieve autonomous mobile operations across multiple terrains and scenarios.
