Chainway

Chainway (链宇科技) is a Chinese energy-tech company founded in winter 2021 by Qin Yudi, then a Tsinghua University student and captain of the university's future automotive interest team . Qin started the company from an abandoned auto parts garage, building fast-charging systems for electric motorcycles before pivoting to AI-driven energy management . The company's stated aim is to use AI agents for overall energy management and dispatch, treating energy as yield-generating "energy assets" analogous to financial asset management .

Chainway is a ZhenFund (真格基金) angel portfolio company and has positioned itself around vehicle-to-grid (V2G) interaction and AIGC-powered energy solutions. It was named one of StartUs Insights' top 10 global V2G innovators for 2023 , and has since showcased its AIGC platform at the 2024 International Digital Energy Expo in Shenzhen and supported Chongqing's vehicle-grid interaction and virtual power plant development . In early 2025 it received a "Golden Award" as one of China's top 30 new economy companies , and in May 2025 won a Korea-China-Japan international innovation prize . The company's chief scientist, academician Ouyang Minggao, received the 2024 Global Energy Prize .
