Center for Quantum Information, Tsinghua University

The Center for Quantum Information at Tsinghua University is the research institute from which quantum computing startup Huayi Quantum (华翊量子) was spun out in January 2022 . Its executive director, Duan Luming (段路明), is an academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and an internationally recognized quantum information expert who serves as Huayi Quantum's founder and chief scientist; he was previously a Fermi Chair Professor at the University of Michigan before returning to Tsinghua full-time in 2018 at the invitation of Turing Award winner Andrew Yao (姚期智) . The center's quantum information research team, drawn from Tsinghua's Institute for Interdisciplinary Information Sciences, provided the core technical talent for the startup, with CEO Yao Lin (姚麟) having been a former associate researcher at the Institute for Interdisciplinary Information Sciences .
