Galixir (星药科技) is an AI-driven drug discovery company founded in 2019 by Chengtao Li, a Tsinghua Yao Class alumnus who earned his PhD at MIT's CSAIL before returning to China . Gaorong Ventures led Galixir's angel round in 2019 and has continued to back it through subsequent rounds . The company raised nearly $10 million in a Pre-A round co-led by Source Code Capital and DCM in 2020 , followed by tens of millions of dollars in additional funding later that year , and a strategic round led by Shanghai AI Industry Investment Fund in August 2021 with continued participation from existing investors including Gaorong, Source Code Capital, Redpoint China, DCM, 5Y Capital, and BAI Capital .
