Yu Wang

Yu Wang (汪玉) is a tenured professor and department chair of Electronic Engineering at Tsinghua University, whose research spans hardware, chips, and foundational software . He is best known in the venture world as the founder of Infinigence AI (无问芯穹), the AI infrastructure company launched in May 2023 and backed by Qiming Venture Partners, where he has spoken publicly on themes like software-hardware co-design and edge intelligence . Before that, in 2016, he co-founded AI chip startup DeePhi Tech with his students Yao Song and Shan Yi; it was acquired by FPGA maker Xilinx for $300 million in 2018 — per a Monolith piece, the first Chinese star startup of the AI-chip wave to be bought .
